Oppo A92 launched: Should make its way to South Asia as well

0

Oppo has been quite busy with releases of its latest smartphones in the market. Most of these launches were limited to China and Europe. However, it looks like the company is now focusing on other parts of the world. Oppo A92, which is its latest offering under the A-series, is now available in Asia. We strongly believe that the smartphone will ultimately make its way to the South Asian market as well. So let’s check out the specs, features, and the expected price of Oppo A92 in Nepal.

Oppo A92 Overview

When it comes to the moniker, smartphones brand aren’t consistent; they tend to release the same phone under different names in different markets. Such is the case with Oppo A92. The device was launched in China as Oppo A72 and is now available in Malaysia with the Indonesian launch round the corner. It is almost certain that the device will make its way to the South Asian market, including India and Nepal, but it seems Oppo will be rebranding the device again. Earlier Oppo launched the Oppo A91 as Oppo F15 in Nepal, and reports suggest that the Oppo A92 will be launched as Oppo F15s.

Design and Display

Specs-wise, Oppo A92 shares a lot of traits with Oppo A9 2020, which was launched last year and it is also available in Nepal. Both devices feature a 6.5-inch IPS LCD, but Oppo A92 has a better resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels compared to 1600 x 720 pixels of A9 2020. Oppo A92 display features a circular cut-out on the top left corner to house the front camera.

On the back, we can see the quad-camera setup housed inside a rectangular camera module. The back panel flaunts what the brand calls the Alaska Sky inspired design, which is available in two color options – Twilight Black and Shining White. It also adopts a 3D Quad-curve design on the rear panel for a smoother feel. The fingerprint sensor has now been integrated on the power button on the side of the device.

Performance and Memory

Oppo A90 2020 had Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset, and we weren’t entirely happy because we believe Oppo could have done better. And in 2020, they are still sticking to the same chipset. Yes, you heard it right. Oppo A92 features the same Snapdragon 665 chipset in a time where all the major smart brands are favoring Snapdragon 765G in their mid-range phones. The device comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. In case the storage isn’t sufficient, the device does come with a microSD card slot for expansion.

Camera

The rectangular camera module on the back houses the quad-camera setup and an LED flash. Oppo A92 has a 48MP primary camera with a 1/2″ sensor and an aperture of f/1.7. Along with Ultra Night Mode 2.0, the company claims that the camera won’t disappoint you with night shots. There is also a 16MP ultra-wide camera with a FOV of 119-degree and a 2MP depth sensor. The information about the remaining sensor isn’t clear, but it looks to be a monochrome sensor of 2MP. The camera setup supports wide-angle video, 4K video recording, 120fps slow-motion video, and Anti-Shake features. For selfies, there is a 16MP front camera with Oppo’s AI beautification mode.

Huawei pushing for its AppGallery in Nepal: 70+ Nepali apps & more yet to come!

Huawei has a pretty decent lineup in the form of the P40 series waiting for us as soon as the lockdown is over. The three phones in this series – P40, P40 Pro, and P40 Pro+ all seem like an absolute beast of a smartphone. However, the one thing that might restrain people from buying these devices is the lack of Google Play Services. Well, Huawei does have its custom AppGallery instead of the Play Store. But suffice to say, it has failed to appeal to many out there. However, the Huawei AppGallery now has over 70 Nepali Apps. And I do believe it will boost the already existing popularity of Huawei in Nepal.

Huawei locked horns with Google last year, and its effect has been devastating. They have had to remove access to Google Apps from their devices. Though they had devised a workaround regarding this issue initially, the loophole was quickly blocked. Since then, Huawei has been work on improving its proprietary AppGallery for the wider audience. And my oh my have they done a great job with it!

Huawei AppGallery currently has 73 Nepali apps in it. Moreover, this includes most of the major apps too. Thus, I believe that these integrated apps will only serve to increase the popularity of Huawei in Nepal and also increase the sales of their smartphone. The following are some of the major Nepali apps that are currently available in Huawei AppGallery.

Nepali Apps on Huawei AppGallery

Category Apps
News & Magazines eKantipur, Radio Kantipur, Nepal Magazine, Edupatra
Entertainment AP1 HD Television, Kantipur TV, QFX, Dish Home, Saptahik
Business Nepal Electricity Authority, Classictech, Lexpertease
Health Jeevee Health, Nepal Covid-19 Surveillance
Utilities Nepal Telecom, Ncell, eSewa, Fonepay, Cellpay, Kirana, Buddha Air, CIT, NTA Call

These are some of the apps that we use daily and its integration in the AppGallery will certainly come as a relief for the current and potential Huawei customers. Having said that, we are too accustomed to using Google Services. For instance, apps such as Gmail and YouTube have become an integral part of our lives. We are heavily dependent on them be it for professional reasons or entertainment. Therefore, their absence in a Huawei smartphone will be sorely missed. Yet, the addition of these Nepali apps is certainly a step in the right direction, especially for the Nepali market.

Corsair Cooling Fans Price in Nepal

Though cases come with fans, people still prefer third party fans. There are a lot of things to consider when choosing a CPU fan. There are fans with size ranging from 80mm to up to 200mm. A larger fan pushes more air out than smaller ones while running at the same RPM. Look for fans with a lower sound level if you don’t want the noise of your fan to distract you while gaming. The fan should also be compatible with your system. CFM (Cubic Feet per Meter) determines the volume of the air the fan can move in a minute. You will also have to decide between Static Pressure and Airflow. The latter is ideal when nothing is blocking the fan, but when objects like radiators are blocking the fan; you will need the extra power of static pressure fan.

Corsair Liquid Coolers Price in Nepal

If you are looking to build a gaming PC, chances are you will be looking for an excellent cooling system. Liquid cooling systems may be expensive, but those are the ones you need if you are serious about gaming. They are quite and easier to integrate but require regular maintenance to avoid any kind of leakage. There are a lot of elements to consider while buying a cooler for your computer. The TDP of the cooler should at least match the TDP of your processor. The cooler should also be compatible with your CPU, and the radiator should be small enough to fit inside your case.

Corsair’s Hydro series liquid coolers come with quite pumps, magnetic levitation fans, precise pump control, and iCUE compatibility. Power Supply Unit is what provides power to your whole setup. Before you go out in the market looking for a PSU, you need to calculate how much power your system will actually use. Several online power supply calculators can tell you that once you have entered your components. You will need to choose a PSU that at least meets the power requirement of your system. A higher rated PSU can leave room for some future upgrade; however, if you go for overboard on this, it might have a severe impact on your electricity bill. Corsair Gaming Headphones Price in Nepal [Updated 2020]

Is your Kill to Death ratio on a decline because you can’t figure out the direction of your enemy based on their footsteps? If yes, you are not alone, and it’s time that you invest in a proper gaming headset. Many of us don’t even realize how much of a positive impact a good gaming headphone (or headset) can have on your gaming performance. In this post, we are listing some of the best Corsair gaming headphones (headsets), along with their specs and price, that you can buy in Nepal.

Corsair is a brand that manufactures and sells gaming peripherals and hardware. It started as a RAM manufacturer back in 1994, and it is now one of the most recognized gaming accessories brands in the world. Their portfolio includes mechanical keyboards, gaming mouse/mice, gaming headsets, and gaming chairs. On top of those, their selection of PC components is even more significant. For instance, they sell high-performance RAM, Power supplies, liquid coolers, FANs, storage to custom coolers.

How to decide on a good Gaming Headphone (Headset)?

Several times headphones and headsets are used interchangeably, but they do have differences. Headphones are designed for the best sound quality, and they usually don’t come with any mic. Most of the time, a headset with some gaming features will do just right. You also need to choose between wired and wireless connectivity. The former restricts your body movements while the latter comes with a heftier price tag and may suffer from battery and latency issues. You will also want to look for features such as surround sound or 3D sound; both try to provide realistic sound, but the latter uses more advanced technology and thus is found on only premium models. Check the quality of the mic and see if it can be retracted or detached as well.

However, the most important aspects of any headphone or headset are the design, build, and feel. A headphone with an arc made up of metal or wireframe is better than that made up of plastic. It shouldn’t bother you with its weight. The earcups should be able to cover your entire ear for better sound isolation. It should be soft yet durable.

Corsair Gaming Keyboards Price in Nepal [Updated 2020]

For anyone who is looking to build a new gaming PC or upgrade their existing one, the struggle of finding authentic PC component and gaming accessories are real. There are only a handful of brands dedicated to the gaming industry that are officially available in Nepal. One such brand is Corsair, which entered the Nepali market last year and now has a wide range of products to offer to the still-growing Nepali gaming scenario. Today, we will be looking at some of the best Corsair gaming keyboards that you can buy in Nepal, along with their features, specs, and price.

Choosing a Gaming Keyboard

No matter which game you prefer to play, you need a reliable keyboard that lets you control every aspect of the game. The idea of the best gaming keyboard is subjective as all keyboards are made different, and each appeals to different groups of players. The first thing to look at in a keyboard is the key mechanism. Generally, there are two of them – membrane and mechanical. The former uses a pressure-sensitive layer to detect the keystroke while the latter uses spring-based switches. Mechanical keyboards are faster, durable, customizable, and provide better feedback to the users and thus have a more significant reputation in the market. On the other hand, the membrane keyboard is quieter and is easy on the wallet. There are also keyboards with hybrid mechanisms that are popular with laptops and low-profile gaming desktop.

If you are into gaming, a mechanical keyboard is a way to go, but mechanical keyboards differ in switch type. Switches are assigned to different groups (represent by color) with respect to their features such as facility, speed, sound, actuation point, and force. Different brands have come up with their own color scheme; however, the keyboards on this list all follow Cherry MX’s color scheme, which has been the industry standard for decades now.  Other things to consider are the size of the keyboard, availability of number pad, media control, and programmable macro keys, n-key rollover, anti-ghosting features, and USB passthrough options.

One such brand is Corsair, which entered the Nepali market last year and now has a wide range of products to offer to the still-growing Nepali gaming scenario. On top of those, their selection of PC components is even more significant. For instance, they sell high-performance RAM, Power supplies, liquid coolers, FANs, storage to custom coolers.

Choosing a Gaming Mouse

When it comes to a gaming mouse, people are divided between optical and laser sensors. Laser sensors are more accurate, and expensive, and are thus used by brands in their flagship products. Optical sensors, on the other hand, don’t have lag and are easier on the wallet. The other thing to consider is the DPI. DPI rating indicates how fast the cursor moves on the screen. Are higher DPI better? It all depends on the kind of player using the mouse. If you make shorter mouse movements, you would require a high DPI mouse.

On the other hand, if you make longer drags, a low DPI mouse will be ideal. To sum it up, look for a mouse with customizable DPI over a wide range so that you can customize it for the best performance possible. Besides this, another thing of equal importance is the design and feel of the mouse. Make sure that the mouse suits your gripping style and is light enough to drag and move around. If you are going for a wireless mouse, you will also have to take the battery and latency into consideration. Other things to consider are polling rate, acceleration, and lift-off distance. A higher polling rate means faster communication between the mouse and the system. Also, we recommend you to go with a mouse with a low lift-off distance and without acceleration.

Corsair mice are designed with a particular genre of games in Mind. You will find that Corsair mice are categorized as FPS, MOBA, and MMO according to the kind of games that they are designed to play. Samsung Galaxy A71 Review: Premium Midrange Phone Done Right

Samsung Galaxy A71 is the latest premium midrange phone from the Korean giants. Priced just under Rs. 50,000 in Nepal, the Galaxy A71 promises awesome display, camera, and battery life. But, is it a good premium midrange phone to buy in 2020? Let’s find out in our review here.

Samsung Galaxy A71 Specifications

  • Body: 6.44 x 2.99 x 0.30 inches; 179 gms

DESIGN:

Design-wise, the most apparent change from its predecessor is the camera module and an addition of a macro lens. We also have this patterned gradient back that looks lovely.

But don’t be mistaken by the looks, because it seems like a glass back but in reality, the rear panel and frames are plastic. And during my time with the phone, the back surprisingly hasn’t developed any scratches, though I would strongly suggest you don’t take chances and case it up!

Samsung Galaxy A71 design

Another reason for using a case is for the camera bump that creates an imbalance when placing on a flat surface. But keeping those things aside, I absolutely adore this design choice from Samsung. I love how slim and ergonomic it is despite having a 4,500 mAh battery inside.

PERFORMANCE

Let’s talk performance, and one thing about Samsung’s mid-range phones we absolutely hate is their generosity in providing great chipset. And Although the Snapdragon 730 chipset that this phone has, is somewhat a decent choice but cmon its 2020, and you get cheaper phones these days with SD 730 or 730G.

So maybe Samsung could have gone with their in-house Exynos 9820 that was used on its last year’s Galaxy S10 flagship. Nevertheless, real-life usage is ‘good’ with the 6GB RAM it has. I have zero complaints in that matter, whether it be for normal tasks or rigorous multitasking.

For the hard-core gamers out there, yes, you are going to face a few stutters here and there while pushing the phone to its limits with high-end games. But let me assure you, it’s really only a few stutters and nothing more. Even after some continuous PUBG and COD sessions, I didn’t feel the device break down or heat up, so that’s impressive!

Samsung One UI:

With Samsung’s mid-range phones, it’s usually the slow UI that made us overlook even the good things about those phones. But with the A71, I’ve had quite a good experience.Unlike what you would typically expect on a Samsung midrange phone, the UI on the A71 is very swift. Working around the phone is smooth and I never felt even an s- of stutter while using it.

Also, this might be a minor thing, but I am fond of the icons here too which are subtle and not that flashy. Having said that, the One UI 2.0 is not as polished as, say, the Galaxy S20 that I recently reviewed.  But for a mid-range device, the things you get in here is actually good.

DISPLAY

Playing games has been pleasing in this big AMOLED display. Sadly, the A71 does not support a higher refresh rate. Therefore, I’m shying away from calling its display the best in its range. Well, we cannot rule out the fact that a 120Hz display is all the rage right now, can we?

Even so, quality-wise, it’s hard not to admire this screen. The ever so tiny notch up top is non-intrusive and looks very nice actually. At a time when smartphone brands are either going for traditional notches or those god-awful dual punch holes, this one is a good-looking implementation in comparison!

The indoor brightness is more than enough and even outdoors in bright sunny days, you won’t be disappointed. The device is Widevine L1 certified but for unknown reasons, is not HDR10 compatible. And Samsung is still using the older Gorilla Glass 3 protection here. So, make sure you install a good screen protector. I, on the other hand, haven’t used any tempered glass on the unit I have and there are already few evident scratches.

Samsung Galaxy A71 display

Likewise, because of the price restriction, the display doesn’t have those fancy curves. But the bezels are minimal and the display has an impressive 20:9 aspect ratio! So, display-wise, things look great here, although I hope the next iteration comes with a higher refresh rate display!

But since it’s the signature AMOLED panel from Samsung, you get perks like having an Always-On Display that you can customize to show whenever you want. There’s also an in-display fingerprint sensor which I’ll talk about later.

BATTERY

And about the battery, I have to say that it’s very enduring. For the heavy users out there, this phone is the way to go.

It gets you through a couple of hours of gaming, a lot of social media & YouTube and some photography with a little juice left at the end of the day. Plus, it’s a 60 Hz screen so there won’t be excessive drainage too. In very basic usage, it will get you through a day and a half of battery life, so that’s pretty cool.

Also, it fills in very fast as well. The 25-watt charger you get inside the box fills the battery in slightly over one hour and ten minutes. The faster charging is also the result of the Type-C to Type-C power delivery mechanism the phone employs. This might be something unique in a device of this price range, but if your laptop does not have a USB C port, data sharing might be some trouble for you. You will need an extra USB cable or a dongle.

CAMERA

Samsung’s mid-range devices never disappoint when it comes to camera performance and it really shows here.

The Galaxy A71 has a quad camera setup with a 64MP primary lens, followed by a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5MP depth sensor, and an additional 5MP macro lens. And although the A71 here uses the same 64MP Samsung GW1 sensor like the Realme X2 and the Redmi Note 8 Pro, Samsung’s optimization is better if you nitpick aspects like details, color reproduction and sometimes HDR too!

The primary pixel binned 16MP images from the A71 are very rich in colors. Although some might think that they are a bit on the saturated side, I think it looks pleasing, to be honest. The details captured look fine and HDR works considerably well. The best images from the A71 are mostly reflected in natural elements like flowers and landscapes because Samsung’s optimization works best here.

The Ultra-Wide-angle sensor is also another impressive thing about the A71. Mostly, you get a standard 8MP sensor in midrange phones, but Samsung has gone a step further with a 12MP one, so you are getting more details. And not only that, the HDR works well too and the colors are as good as the primary lens.

The portrait shots also do not disappoint. The subject focus is on point and the background is definitely nice too. The edge detection isn’t as good as say the flagship one’s but overall, you will like them most of the times.

Speaking of disappointment, it has to be the macro lens here. Not only you cannot focus on the images while taking it, the  captured images produced, most of the times, are not very appealing in terms of quality. Maybe with the best possible lighting, you can get a few good enough shots & that’s about it.

Now talking about the 32MP selfie camera, it is very very good. Selfies usually have a good color tone and look good overall. Unlike Realme X2’s, this one has good HDR capabilities. So, even if I clicked selfies during sunny days, I got good looking pictures. Portrait selfies are not the best as its software at work but not anything to complain about either.

For the Tiktok users, this selfie camera even has a slow-mo video feature with which you can add a little flair to your videos. And even for others, you can definitely have some fun with this feature.

Talking of videos, quality-wise, they look good. You can crank the resolution up to 4K, but all the resolutions only support up to 30 fps, which, I think works for an average person, but for me, I think Samsung should have given a 60-fps option at least in FHD resolution. Also, talking of stabilization, 4k videos come out wobbly but 1080p videos have good stabilization.

While I have liked the images from the back camera, night time images are nothing out of the ordinary. So, most of the time I used the night mode which improves the exposure and details in images. It does crop the picture a little bit, which I don’t understand why. You can click wide-angle images from the night mode as well, which balances the exposure a little bit. But the normal night time wide-angle-images are not so impressive by themselves, as it is just a slight improvement and nothing else.

So, Overall, in terms of the camera, the only aspect where the Galaxy A71 left me wanting for more is the 60fps videos. Skip that and the rest are fine by my standards. I particularly liked the ultra-wide-angle shots, which I personally think more and more brands on their midrange lineup should focus on.

BIOMETRICS

But something that I have always wanted Samsung to improve on is their slow in-display fingerprint sensors.  Although its slightly faster than last gen Galaxy A70, but its still slow when you speed-test against its Chinese counterparts. So, yes, I think Samsung needs to work on it a little bit. Another biometric option, the face unlock is fast and unlocks the phone before the fingerprint sensor does, all the time!

AUDIO

The single firing speaker is also good, not the flagship stereo speaker level, but I would rate it, like B+.  But one thing to note here is the sound gets blocked mostly when you play games and watch videos in landscape. So, I‘ve had to frequently adjust how I held the phone, which has been some trouble for me.

VERDICT

So, to sum it up, like I said in the beginning of this video, I’ve had a very good experience with the Galaxy A71. However, what makes for a good experience in my case, might not be the same for everyone else. For instance, phones like the Realme X2 Pro or the Oneplus 7 definitely have better performance when compared to the A71, so if your priority is gaming, you are better off with those options.

But, if you are looking for a smartphone, that does every bit for you, the A71 is one of the most viable choices available. And here in Nepal, since the Realme X2 Pro hasn’t launched yet, I think the Galaxy A71 is a very good choice for some 50,000 rupees.

Samsung Galaxy A50s

If you remember, the Galaxy A50s was initially launched for a high price, but now it goes for below 20K in India. One thing that differentiates it from the rest of the bunch is the design. At a time when all the Chinese brands are heavy and boxy, Samsung, on the other hand, is making their designs slimmer and more ergonomic with every new launch.

Anyway, coming back to the design of the A50s, you get this absolutely stunning looking phone. The glasstic back has these really cool looking patterns which make the phone look classy and stylish. Plus, the phone is very ergonomic and feels light on the hands which further adds to the niceties.

What’s also nice is the front of the A50s, it’s got a pleasing Super AMOLED display which is one of the best panels you can get for the price. Additionally, the AMOLED display complements the dark theme of the UI very well. So, if you are someone who likes the dark mode, you will love what you see on the A50s. Further, the display is home to an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The triple cameras on it have very good performance too which is all thanks to Samsung’s excellent optimization. The details, HDR, saturation all have a good balance in normal as well as the ultra-wide shots as evident from these samples here.

Samsung has also provided the One UI 2.0 based on Android 10 last month. But what I do need to tell you is that performance over here is just average. The dated 10 nm based Exynos 9611 does not quite match up to the contemporaries like Snapdragon 720G or 730G or the Helio G90T. For an average user though, it should still serve you well.

Samsung Galaxy A50s Specifications:

  • Body: 6.24 x 2.93 x 0.30 inches; 169 gm (5.96 oz)

Redmi Note 9 Pro max:

The Redmi Note 9 pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max are the two recent additions to Xiaomi’s lineup. And both are basically the same phone, except for some minor changes here and there. So, if you want to save some money, get the Pro version instead.

Also, maybe Xiaomi could have done some more differentiation with the specs between the two. For instance, they could have provided a Super AMOLED display or a higher refresh rate to make the Pro Max version stand out a little bit.

But even so, the Redmi Note 9 pro max is one of the good mid-range phones in today’s date. It offers some good things to the table like the latest Snapdragon 720G chipset which performs very well, a big 5020 mAh battery with 30-watt fast charging support, and a refreshing new look.

Similarly, Camera-wise, you get very good performance with the 64MP Samsung GW1 sensor that you get here. The details are on point and colors as well as dynamic range are very well preserved too. Overall, the Note 9 pro max is one worthy phone in this list!

Redmi Note 9 Pro Max Specifications:

  • Display: 6.67-inch IPS LCD screen with Gorilla Glass 5 Protection

Samsung Galaxy M31:

If you are a Samsung fan and the Galaxy A50s or the newly launched Galaxy A51 is a little too expensive for your budget, the Galaxy M31 is a great alternative.

It is almost the same as the A50s minus the good looks plus a bigger battery. While you get a standard 4,000 mAh cell on the A50s, the M31 offers you a humongous 6,000 mAh one that can go on and on. However, note that it only has a 15- watt fast charging support so charging the phone can be a bit of a pain.

Additionally, the design of it is not very appealing either. You get a thick phone with a glossy polycarbonate back that looks rather outdated.

Keeping these things aside, you can be assured that you get a good camera setup in the M31. Well, Samsung never fails to make a mark with their cameras! There’s a quad-camera setup tucked inside a square module, all of which have impressive performance, except for the macro lens which is just average.

However, in regards to performance, you have the same old Samsung saga of average chipsets powering their phones. It is powered by the same Exynos 9611 that’s there on the M21, A50s, and countless other Galaxy devices.

Although I am not saying that its performance is bad, when compared to the likes of Helio G90T or the Snapdragon 720G, you are certainly getting a strictly average performance. On the brighter side though, you get the One UI 2.0 here which you guys know how much I prefer over others.

Samsung Galaxy M31 Specifications:

  • Body: 6.26 x 2.96 x 0.35 inches; 191 gm
  • Display: 6.4-inches Super AMOLED panel
  • Resolution: FHD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels); 19.5:9 aspect ratio
  • Chipset: Exynos 9611; 10nm Mobile Platform
  • CPU: Octa-core (4×2.3 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4×1.7 GHz Cortex-A53)
  • GPU: Mali-G72 MP3
  • RAM: 6GB
  • Storage: 64 / 128GB UFS 2.1 (expandable using SD card)
  • Software & UI: Samsung’s One UI 2.0 on top of Android 10
  • Rear Camera: Quad-camera; 64MP, f/1.7 primary shooter; 8MP, f/2.2 ultra-wide lens with 123º FOV; 5MP, f/2.2 depth sensor; 5MP, f/2.2 macro sensor;  Single LED flash
  • Front Camera: 32MP, f/2.0 lens

  • Battery: 6000 mAh with 15W fast charging
  • Colors: Ocean Blue, Space Black, Red

Realme X2:

Realme has brought out a lot of good midrange phones since last year and one of the most notable ones has to be the Realme X2.

Powered by the Snapdragon 730G chipset, this phone gives you one of the best performances in this price range. And except for the Samsung phones, this is the only phone that offers an AMOLED display at this price, so that’s a major plus for it. Talking about the quality of the display, it’s excellent in terms of colors, contrast, and also has acceptable brightness levels. Also, having the AMOLED screen means you get the perks of an in-display fingerprint sensor, which is fast and accurate.

Furthermore, the design of the Realme X2 also looks good to me. Although I would say that I am inclined towards the A50s’ more ergonomic and lightweight design, this one has its own thing going and I am sure many prefer it too. Plus, the back is protected by the Gorilla Glass 5 which makes it more premium than plastic back phones.

The Quad- cameras on it have good performance too. Although the macro and depth sensors are more gimmicky than useful, the other two, the primary and the wide-angle lenses work well. And it’s worth pointing out that Realme X2 is one of the best points to shoot cameras out there for this price.

And one more thing that’s good about the X2 is that Realme has generously provided a 30- watt VOOC fast charging support that can fill the 4,000 mAh battery in around an hour.

Realme X2 Specifications & Price

  • Display: 6.4″ Super AMOLED display
  • Resolution:  1080 x 2340pixels
  • Rear Camera: Quad, 64 MP primary lens with f/1.7 aperture + 8 MP Ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.3 aperture + 2 MP dedicated macro with f/2.4 aperture + 2 MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture
  • Front Camera: 32 MP with f/2.0 aperture
  • Processor: Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 730
  • Software and UI: RealmeUI based on Android 10
  • GPU: Adreno 618
  • RAM: 6 GB and 8GB
  • Storage: 64/128GB
  • Battery: 4000 mAh, 30W Fast Charging

  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot
  • Color Options: Pearl White, Pearl Blue, Pearl Green

Poco X2:

Okay, now we have reached almost to the end of our list, and choosing the first and second place has been a tough choice. However, there has to be a winner and evidently it is not the Poco X2. It has secured second place by just a thin line of difference.

Talking of the performance, the Poco X2 is also powered by the Snapdragon 730G chipset and you can expect it to perform as well as the Realme X2. Similarly, you get a glass design in here that looks quite good. Although the phone is hefty and slightly unergonomic, many people liked it so, it will be fair to say that it totally depends upon your preference.

Coming to the front, you are getting a good- quality IPS LCD screen with good colors and contrast levels. Yes, it’s not an AMOLED panel, but it has a 120Hz refresh rate that gives it an edge. So, when it comes to gaming, it will give you a little bit of extra smooth performance than the Realme X2, which is also one of the reasons why it is a step ahead than the Realme X2 on this list.

Furthermore, camera- wise, here you get a quad-camera setup like many others in this list. However, Poco uses a much superior Sony IMX 686 primary sensor that offers better details and HDR capability. However, color optimization looks better on the Realme X2. So, choosing one among them is actually a tough call.

In terms of battery- life, the 120Hz screen does devour the battery comparatively faster than the regular 60Hz. However, that is recovered by the big 4500mAh battery along with 27-watt fast charging support that fills its battery in about 70 minutes.

POCO X2 Specifications

  • Body: 6.51 x 3.02 x 0.35 inches; 208 gm; P2i coating
  • Display: 6.67-inches “RealityFlow” IPS LCD panel with HDR10 support; 386 PPI and up to 500 nits of brightness
  • Resolution: FHD+ (2400 x 1800 pixels); 20:9 aspect ratio
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G; 8nm Mobile Platform
  • CPU: Octa-core (2x Gold @ 2.2GHz + 6x Silver @ 1.8GHz)
  • GPU: Adreno 618
  • RAM: 6 / 8GB LPDDR4X dual-channel memory
  • Storage: 64 / 128 / 256GB UFS 2.1 (expandable via a microSD card)
  • Software & UI: Android 10 with MIUI 11 on top
  • Rear Camera: Quad-camera; 64 MP f/1.89 Sony IMX686 sensor, PDAF support; 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide sensor with 120º FOV;  2MP f/2.4 macro lens; 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor, Dual LED flash
  • Front Camera: Dual-camera; 20MP f/2.2 primary sensor; 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor
  • Security: Side-mounted fingerprint scanner
  • Audio: 3.5mm headphone jack, Qualcomm Hi-Fi DAC support
  • Connectivity: Hybrid dual-SIM (Nano), microSD card, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/AGPS/GLONASS/Beidou, USB Type-C
  • Battery: 4500 mAh with 27W fast charging
  • Colors: Atlantis Blue, Matrix Purple, Phoenix Red

Realme 6 Pro:

Okay, finally we have reached the top of this list. As evident from our tests, he Realme 6 Pro offers the best value for money under 250 dollars. However, it is worth mentioning that the choice totally depends on the user as well.

If one feels more comfortable with the MIUI, then, one should definitely go for the Poco X2, otherwise Realme 6 Pro is an equally good option. But the reasons to give the 6 Pro the top spot is, number 1: It has a more versatile camera setup consisting of a telephoto zoom lens and number 2: The selfies here are much better than the Poco X2. Also, its dual notch comes with a more useful ultra-wide selfie camera, instead of the depth sensor.

The other specs of the Realme 6 Pro are pretty decent too. You get a good-quality IPS panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 720G here performs as well as what the Poco X2 offers. And Battery- wise you get a good-sized 4,300 mAh cell that gives excellent endurance which further is supported by the 30- watt VOOC charging!

Realme 6 Pro Specifications:

  • Display: 6.6-inch IPS LCD screen with Gorilla Glass 3 Protection
  • Resolution: Full-HD+ resolution (2340×1080 pixels), 20:9 aspect ratio, 90Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: Snapdgragon 720G
  • CPU: Octa-core (2x 2.3Ghz Cortex-A76 + 6x 1.8Ghz Cortex-A55 )
  • GPU: Mali G76 MC4
  • RAM: 6GB/8GB LPDDR4X
  • Storage: 64GB/128GB; Expandable up to 256GB via dedicated SD card slot
  • Rear Camera: Quad cameras, 64 MP, f/1.8 primary shooter; 8 MP, f/2.3 ultra-wide shooter, 2 MP, f/2.4 macro lens and 12MP f/2.5 Telephoto lens

  • OS & UI: Android 10, Realme UI
  • Sensors: Fingerprint (side-mounted), Gyro, accelerometer, proximity, compass
  • Battery: 4300 mAh, USB Type-C port, 30W Fast charging
