Acer TravelMate is the company's business laptop line . They have a very niche audience and are often under the radar. However, they're built with military-grade durability testing, have decent keyboards, and come with business-focused features like fingerprint readers and privacy shutters. The lineup includes models like the P2, P4, and P6, with the P6 being the premium option.
The Acer TravelMate laptops are business-grade laptops, so they're not cheap, but they're also not absurdly expensive like some premium ultrabooks. Generally, the TravelMate laptops in Nepal are priced around 1 lakh and up, and it also really depends on the model. The P2 14 starts at NPR 99,000, while the higher-end P6 models can go much higher. But there aren't that wide a variety of TravelMates as one would expect here in Nepal, because one of the reasons is that, it's not even that popular in the first place, and perhaps many people do not find it very appealing.
TravelMate laptops usually come with Intel Core or Core Ultra processors (Core 5, Core 7, or Core Ultra 5), 8GB to 16GB of RAM, and 512GB to 1TB of storage. The displays you are getting are often either IPS or OLED. Above all, they're lightweight and most models you will find will weigh under 1.6kg, with the P6 at just 1.2kg. You get Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI, USB-A, a microSD reader, and sometimes an RJ45 Ethernet port, depending on the model. The battery life is also very decent.
As I said, if there's one reason to buy these laptops, then, it's because they are light, easy to carry for a long duration. But they're not gaming machines, and the integrated graphics, if you don't know, won't handle heavy video editing or 3D rendering. If you need a laptop for documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and video calls, TravelMate works. If you need dedicated graphics or high performance, you will have to look elsewhere.
TravelMate laptops are undoubtedly solid business machines. They're portable, durable, and have the ports and features one would need. I think the pricing is also pretty reasonable for what you're getting, even though i will not call it a bargain, because there are still other models that will get your job done at a cheaper price. If you travel a lot for work or need a reliable laptop that won't weigh you down, TravelMate can be a decent choice. It's just not a laptop for gaming or other performance-oriented tasks.
