Dishwasher

A dishwasher is a kitchen appliance that automatically cleans your dirty dishes, pots, and utensils. You load the dishes into racks, add detergent, and the machine sprays hot water and soap to wash them. After cleaning, it rinses and dries the dishes. It saves time and effort compared to washing dishes by hand.

It is one of the most popular technologies first conceived by a woman. The first practical dishwasher was invented by Josephine Cochrane in 1886.
