AirPods (2nd Generation) Overview:
Here’s a brief description of the AirPods (2nd Generation):
Design
For the design, every generation of AirPods goes with the half-in-ear design, separating it from their Pro versions which include the in-ear fit. Either way, Apple’s AirPods 2 are lightweight, weighing 4 grams each and the case adds 38.2 grams of weight. However, there is no IP certification, neither in the buds nor in the case.
Audio
There is nothing specs-wise provided on the audio side. Dual beamforming mics are provided by AirPods (2nd Gen) for clearer calls. Also, you can hear the conversation in a noisy area or someone across the room using Live Listen just by handing over the device to your friend to whom you want to listen.
Battery
The Apple AirPods (2nd Generation) delivers 5 hours of listening time / 3 hours of call. And the charging case tops it off by 19 hours for normal listening and 15 hours for calls. Additionally, the case provides 3 hours of music and 2 hours of talk time to the earpieces just in 15 minutes.
Rest of the specs
Other than that, there are three sensors attached: motion-detecting accelerometer, speech-detecting accelerometer, and dual optical sensors (so technically four). Further, Apple’s H1 headphone chip is provided for extra processing needed.
