Anker 140W 4-Port Charger with USB-C Cable Overview

      Design and Build

Starting with the design, the Anker Charger (140W, 4-Port, PD 3.1) takes a compact, stacked form that packs four charging ports into a relatively small body. Measuring 69 × 69 × 36mm and weighing around 395 grams, it is designed to stay stable on a desk while still being practical to carry. The foldable plug helps reduce its footprint when packed, while the covered pins and stacked design help prevent the charger from slipping during use.

The front houses three USB-C ports and one USB-A port, giving you the flexibility to charge multiple devices from a single adapter. The charger also features a touchscreen display that provides real-time information about power output, individual port status, and temperature, making it easier to keep track of what is happening while charging.

Built around GaN technology, the charger combines its high 140W output with a compact design. Anker also uses temperature monitoring and over-temperature protection to manage heat, with the charger automatically reducing its power output when temperatures become too high during extended high-load use.

      Power Delivery and Protocols

Moving on to the charging performance, the Anker Charger (140W, 4-Port, PD 3.1) supports up to 140W of USB Power Delivery (PD) through its two primary USB-C ports, making it capable of powering demanding devices such as laptops alongside phones, tablets, and other accessories. Both USB-C1 and USB-C2 can deliver up to 140W individually, while USB-C3 supports up to 40W and the USB-A port can deliver up to 33W.

The charger uses the USB PD 3.1 standard and supports up to 28V/5A on its two high-power USB-C ports. When multiple ports are used, the charger dynamically distributes its available power—for example, USB-C1 and USB-C2 can deliver 70W each, while using one of them alongside USB-C3 allows a 100W + 40W split.

It can also power up to four devices simultaneously, although the total output is reduced to 134W when all four ports are in use. An E-Marker cable is required for charging above 100W, while the charger automatically adjusts power distribution based on the connected devices and active ports.
