Floating Design and Waterproofing

The Boom 3i floats upright on water instead of lying flat like most floating speakers. This means you get consistent, clear sound above the water’s surface. In addition, it carries an IP68 rating, making it fully waterproof and dustproof. Plus, it has a saltwater-resistant coating that protects it for up to 240 hours of salt-spray exposure, which is pretty useful for beach or ocean use.

Durability and Build

The speaker is designed to survive drops from up to 1 meter. It has a tough rubber bumper protecting the speaker grille and LED lights. The outer shell is corrosion-resistant, so it can handle outdoor conditions and saltwater better than most. You could say it’s made to last through some rough handling.

Sound Performance and Battery

It delivers 50 watts of total power (40 W woofer plus 10 W tweeter), reaching up to 96 dB in volume. The built-in BassUp 2.0 and DSP processing help boost low frequencies for deeper bass. The battery lasts up to 16 hours at moderate volume, which should cover most outdoor activities.

Connectivity and Extra Features

The Boom 3i supports Bluetooth 5.3 for a stable wireless connection. It also allows stereo pairing with two Boom 3is via PartyCast. The Soundcore app offers a 9-band EQ, bass and lighting controls, and features like “Buzz Clean” vibration to clear debris. It also includes an emergency alarm and voice megaphone modes.
