Mac Mini M5 Pro Overview
Design
The new Mac mini maintains Apple’s ultra-compact desktop design, measuring 12.7 cm on each side and standing 5 cm tall. The M5 Pro version weighs 0.73 kg (1.6 pounds). The overall look resembles the Mac Studio but with a smaller footprint, focusing on simplicity and portability.
Performance
Apple offers the high-end configuration powered by the Apple M5 Pro chip, which features a 15-core CPU with 5 super cores and 10 performance cores, paired with a 16-core GPU supporting hardware-accelerated ray tracing and Neural Accelerators. For memory and storage, the M5 Pro models support 24GB of unified memory (configurable up to 48GB or 64GB) with a massive memory bandwidth of 307GB/s and offer a base storage option of a 512GB SSD, scalable up to 8TB.
I/O and Connectivity
The front of the Mac mini includes two USB-C ports supporting USB 3 (up to 10Gb/s) and a 3.5 mm headphone jack with advanced support for high-impedance headphones. On the back, users will find three Thunderbolt 5 (USB-C) ports supporting speeds up to 120Gb/s—along with an HDMI port, one 2.5Gb Ethernet port (upgradable to 10Gb), and a power socket.
Wireless options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread networking technology, supported by the Apple N1 wireless networking chip for fast and stable connections. The system runs on macOS and includes the latest Apple Intelligence and Siri AI features for improved functionality.
