The Watch Ultra 2 has IP6X certification for dust resistance. With the WR100 rating, it is rated to withstand up to 100 meters of deep water. Diving enthusiasts will appreciate the EN13319 standard rating of up to 40 meters. Plus, the availability of different band options like Alpine Loop, Trail Loop, and Ocean Band adds versatility to its style.

On the front is the always-on 1.92″ Retina OLED screen with sapphire crystal protection and a peak brightness of 3000 nits, which ensures visibility even in bright sunlight. Furthermore, the 502×410 pixel resolution and ~338 ppi density indicate sharp visuals.

Moving on, the upgraded S9 chip powered by the A15 Bionic processor is a notable improvement. This chip included in Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2 has 60% more transistors and comes with 30% faster GPU.

With all of that, the 64GB of storage is a welcome addition for users with large data requirements. Additionally, the new four-core neural processing unit (NPU) is included for Siri to work within the watch rather than needing WiFi or data.

On the flip side, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 appears well-equipped for health and fitness tracking. It covers essential metrics like heart rate, blood oxygen, stress, ECG levels, and skin temperatures. The updated workout app and intelligent workout switching cater to diverse fitness needs. Moreover, the included siren and reliable GPS add to its safety and tracking capabilities.

Intuitive Gesture

Not only is the double-tap or pinch gesture a user-friendly addition, but it also increases the user’s overall interaction experience. This feature leverages various sensors and machine learning for precise control. Just by touching the index finger with your thumb, you can activate gestures to pick up the call (or turn off the alarm), just like in Apple Vision Pro.

Battery

On a normal day, it maintains the same 36-hour battery life as the Watch Ultra. However, the low-power saving mode got a buff, making the Apple Watch Ultra 2 last double the normal battery life (equating to 72 hours of total usage).
