DJI Osmo Action 6

DJI Osmo Action 6 Overview

Design and Display

The Osmo Action 6 has quite a familiar design. It comes in a compact, rugged build as always, with the whole thing weighing less than 150 grams. This thing is also waterproof up to 20 meters on its own, and if you slap in a waterproof case, DJI claims it can survive up to 60 meters of immersion. It also features a dual-direction quick-release adapter mount to attach to various objects. In terms of display, the Osmo Action 6 features OLED panels on both sides with up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness.

Camera and Performance

As for the camera itself, the DJI Osmo Action 6 uses a 1/1.1-inch 38MP square sensor. It boasts an impressive 13.5 stops of dynamic range—while the even more impressive thing is that you get a variable aperture lens here. I know an f/2.0 – f/4.0 range doesn't sound too impressive, but it's a pretty fast lens regardless. So if you're planning on shooting a lot of nighttime videos, the Osmo Action 6 could end up impressing you a lot.

It's capable of recording at up to 8K 30 fps for the most detailed videos, and it lets you shoot 4K 120 fps slow-mo videos too. For even finer creative control, the Osmo Action 6 supports 10-bit D-Log M recording. Whereas in terms of stabilization, it supports DJI's RockSteady 3.0+ EIS, along with 4K HorizonSteady and HorizonBalancing.

Battery and Storage

The Osmo Action 6 gets its juice from a 1,950 mAh battery that DJI claims can last up to 240 minutes. It also supports quick charging, by the way. DJI says just 22 minutes of charge can get you 80% power, while a complete refill takes half an hour more. This action camera comes with 50GB of built-in storage as well, with support for up to a 1TB external microSD card.
