The HoverAir X1 is built around the idea of extreme portability, functioning less like a traditional drone and more like an automated flying camera for social media. Tipping the scales at only 125 grams, it easily folds up for pocket storage and features fully enclosed propellers. Instead of needing a bulky controller, the X1 uses pre-programmed, autonomous flight modes and downward vision sensors to capture stable video up to 2.7K at 30 fps.

      HoverAir X1 Combo Overview

      Design and Extreme Portability

The X1’s physical design is its biggest selling point. At just 125 grams, the device easily folds down to a size of 86 x 127 x 31 mm—small enough to genuinely fit into a jacket pocket. Crucially, the propellers are fully enclosed in a cage, which also makes it extremely safe to launch from and land on the palm of your hand. Because of this low weight, the X1 is generally categorized as a C0 drone, meaning in many regions, users face fewer legal restrictions than with heavier drones. The trade-off for this extreme lightness is limited performance in higher winds, and there is no IP rating for weather resistance.

      Performance and Features

The X1 sacrifices GPS and a traditional controller for a simplified, hands-free experience. Instead of a remote, the device relies on a downward vision sensing system to maintain position and execute pre-programmed autonomous flight paths. To get a shot, users simply power it on, select a mode (like Follow, Orbit, or Zoom Out) using the buttons on the drone itself, and launch it from their palm. No phone or remote is needed for takeoff.

The max horizontal speed reaches 25 km/h in Follow mode. But It only offers a short max transmission range of 30 meters via Wi-Fi for live view.

      Camera and Battery Life

It uses a 1/2.3-inch CMOS 12MP module with an f/2.4 lens and captures footage at up to 2.7K @ 30 fps or 1080p @ 60 fps. For stability, it uses a 1-axis mechanical gimbal (for tilt) combined with electronic image stabilization. The primary limitation of the X1 is its flight time. The small 1050 mAh battery only allows for about 11 minutes of flight.
