Along with other iPhones comes the awaited iPhone 15 Plus. There are very limited upgrades between the iPhone 15 Plus and its predecessor iPhone 14 Plus; only limited in processor and camera to say. So, let's discuss what Apple has put into the handset this time.
iPhone 15 Plus Overview
Design and Display
Talking of the display, it is a Super Retina XDR OLED panel with an FHD+ resolution (2796 x 1290 pixels) and Ceramic Shield glass. Meanwhile, Apple has not upgraded the refresh rate this year either as this is still a 60Hz display. Even in terms of thickness and weight, there isn't a substantial difference, as it measures 7.80 mm (same as its predecessor) in thickness and weighs 201 grams (from 203 g).
Performance and Memory
On the performance side of things, the Plus model relies on Apple’s last-gen A16 Bionic chip. This Hexa-core CPU boasts two Everest cores at 3.46GHz and four Sawtooth cores at 2.0GHz frequencies. There is the 5-core Apple GPU handling the graphics task for the handset. Storage-wise, you get three variants: 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB and for RAM, it offers 6GB capacity. The phone boots on iOS 17.
Camera
On the rear, Apple continues to provide a dual camera setup. It features a 48MP primary camera featuring sensor-shift optical image stabilization (OIS) for steady shots. Complementing this, there's a 12MP ultra-wide camera that captures wide-angle shots with a broader perspective.
Battery
The iPhone 15 Plus packs a Li-Ion 4330 mAh non-removable battery, offering up to 20 hours of video playback. It supports 20W fast charging, 7.5W Qi wireless charging, and 15W MagSafe wireless charging. Notably, there's no adapter included in the box, so users would need to acquire one separately for fast charging capabilities.
Connectivity
Likewise, this guy gets the USB-C 2.0 port. Regarding connectivity, the iPhone offers a range of options, including 5G, WiFi 6E, NFC, GPS, satellite connectivity, car crash detection, and emergency SOS. A notable addition is the "Roadside Assistance" feature, enabling users to reach out to related authorities via satellite connection in situations such as running out of fuel, having a flat tire, or getting stuck.
