Design
The JBL Boombox 4 comes with a complete redesign that is 12% lighter than its predecessor, despite offering more power. Weighing 5.89 kg, it remains a large and rugged speaker, but the integrated handle makes it easier to carry around. The speaker is available in three color options: Black, Blue, and Camouflage. With dimensions of 506.4 × 262.9 × 212.9 mm, the Boombox 4 is clearly built for bold presence rather than subtle portability.
Audio
The JBL Boombox 4 has seven drivers, including dual 5-inch woofers, dual 0.75-inch tweeters, and three passive radiators. It delivers up to 210W RMS when plugged in and 180W RMS on battery. An AI Sound Boost algorithm optimizes audio for better sound, and a Bass Boost button offers two levels of enhanced low-end for deeper bass.
Control and Connectivity
For seamless connectivity, the JBL Boombox 4 features Bluetooth 5.4 with Auracast support, enabling multi-speaker pairing. It can connect to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously, making it easy to switch between sources. The USB-C port supports lossless audio playback via a built-in DAC, while the IP68 rating protects against dust and water, including full submersion.
Battery
Equipped with a 99Wh internal battery, the JBL Boombox 4 offers up to 28 hours of playback, which can be extended to 34 hours using Playtime Boost. The speaker also functions as a 30W power bank with 20V/1.5A PPS output, allowing users to charge their devices while listening. Fast charging is supported via both USB-C and AC ports.
