JBL Grip Overview:
Sound and Performance
Talking about the sound, at its core is a 16W full-range driver (32mm × 80mm) with JBL claiming punchy bass and good genre versatility. It also supports multi-speaker pairing via Auracast, so you can sync it with other compatible JBL gear.
Meanwhile, for connectivity, you get Bluetooth 5.4, which means the speaker pairs more quickly and offers better stability, while the RGB lighting setup is also available if you want to toggle between Ambient, Breathing, and Rhythm-based modes —all customizable through the JBL Portable app.
Durability and Build
The JBL Grip looks ready to take a beating. You’re getting a rugged frame with IP68 dust- and water-resistant protection, drop resistance up to 1 meter, and a rope loop to hook it to a bag or bike. It weighs about 385g, roughly the size of a soda can, and has rubber feet to keep it steady on flat surfaces.
Battery and Charging
In Normal mode, we get up to 12 hours, and Boost+ mode extends it to 14. Charging happens via USB-C and takes about 3 hours to top up.
