Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen3: Overview

Here’s a brief description of the build, chipset, and battery life of the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s with the Ryzen 5 Pro processor.

Design and Build 

ThinkPad T14s has the build of a premium device. It has an all-body aluminum chassis and a 14″ WUXGA display with 45% NTSC coverage. The ThinkPad T14s has an LED backlit keyboard, a Windows Precision glass touchPad, and a familiar Trackpoint. It is light at just 1.23 kg or about 2.6 pounds. It is 318 mm in width, 227mm deep, and has a height of 17mm.

Performance and Memory

Under the hood of the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 3 (2022), is an AMD Ryzen 5 Pro 6650U processor. It has 6 Cores and 12 Threads. The chip has a base frequency of 2.9 GHz and a max frequency of 4.5 GHz.

Integrated AMD Radeon 660 GPU handles the graphic workload. Lenovo ThinkPad T14s comes with 16GB of soldered LPDDR5 RAM, so unfortunately, it cannot be upgraded any further. You get 512GB SSD on purchase, which can be further expanded to 2 TB via the one M.2 2280 slot(pre-occupied).

Battery and Connectivity

What powers the machine is a 57 Wh Li-Po battery. It can play local 1080p video for up to 18.1 hours at 150 nits of brightness. It performed well on the MobileMark 2018 benchmark as well lasting 14.6 hours at 200 nits.

As for connectivity, you get 2 USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports that support data transfer, Power Delivery 3.0, and DisplayPort 1.4a. You also get  2 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, and 1 HDMI port. A 3.5mm headphone/microphone jack is also present to meet your audio needs. On the wireless side of things, you get WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.1.
