Design and Build
The Lenovo Yoga 9 has the build of a premium device. Its aluminum body is sturdy and feels nice to hold. It's not heavy though, only weighing about 1.4 kilos. The OLED display has great contrast (contrast ratio of 1000000:1), vibrant colors, and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. Its tall 16:10 aspect ratio, along with the smooth 90Hz makes watching media enjoyable. It also has Dolby Vision Support and True Black500. It is a touch panel with Lenovo E-color Pen support.
Performance and Memory
Lenovo's Yoga 9 is powered by Intel's powerful i7 chip. The 12th generation i7-1280P chip is specially optimized for performance in thin and light laptops. Unfortunately, there is no dedicated graphics, so you'll have to make do with Intel's integrated Iris Xe graphics.
This laptop ships with 16GB of fast LPDDR5 memory, but unfortunately, it's non upgradable. You also get a 1TB M.2 SSD for secondary storage and that too can't be upgraded any further.
Battery and Connectivity
The Lenovo Yoga 2022 14IAP7 comes with a 75Wh battery which is pretty good for a laptop this weight. It lasted 10.5 hours in the MobileMark 2018 benchmark at 200 nits of brightness and can playback local 1080p video for up to 14 hours.
For wireless connections, you get your standard Wifi 6E and Bluetooth 5.1. One USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, one USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports that support PD 3.0 and Display Port 1.4, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
