OnePlus 12 Overview
Not long ago, OnePlus only made one series of phones named after the brand itself. In recent years, the company's catalogue has widened. After that, the phones going with the brand name itself have been established as the flagship offering of the phone. Given that, the OnePlus 12 is the Chinese tech giant's flagship offering for the year 2024.
Design and Display
The OnePlus 12 comes in a similar design to the OnePlus 11. Since the design has not changed with this phone, OnePlus might be trying to create a separate design identity of its own. The OnePlus 12 comes in a curved finish and features an aluminium frame alongside Gorilla Glass back. It comes with a large circular camera island housing three cameras on the back. It boasts an IP65 rating and comes in three finishes i.e. Black, Green, and Silver.
On the front, we have a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED display with minimal bezels and a hole-punch camera cutout. This panel comes from BOE and has a QHD+ resolution spanning 1440 x 3168 pixels. Additionally, it offers a refresh rate of 120Hz, high-frequency PWM dimming of 2160Hz, peak brightness of 4500 nits, and a 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut. Lastly, the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Performance
Under the hood, the OnePlus 12 packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It is an octa-core silicone built on a 4nm process that can achieve a peak clock speed of 3300 MHz. It is also coupled with the Adreno 750 GPU. Furthermore, it comes in four configurations 12GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB, 16GB + 1TB, and 24GB + 1TB. The storage here cannot be expanded any further with external storage. It also comes with a 9,400 mm2 vapour chamber to keep the phone cool and smooth. Meanwhile, on the software end, it ships with OxygenOS 14 based on Android 14 for the global audience.
Camera and the rest
The OnePlus 12 boasts a triple camera setup on the back, led by a 50MP primary sensor. It is coupled with a 48MP ultrawide and a 64MP telephoto lens. The camera also features Hasselblad colour calibration. Meanwhile, up on the front, we are getting a 32MP shooter for the selfies. Powering the system is a 5,400 mAh battery that can be juiced by 100W wired charging. It also accepts 50W wireless, and 10W reverse charging. Meanwhile, it supports dual-SIM, 5G, WiFi 7, Bluetooth v5.4, and NFC for wireless connectivity. On the other hand, you only get a USB Type-C port for wired connections.
