Design and Display

The Redmi Watch 5 Active is a squircle smartwatch with a zinc alloy body and IPX8 water resistance. It comes in two standard colors: Midnight Black, and Matter Silver. The watch band does not have a buckle and comes with a gap in the middle instead. You will have to overlap the strap on itself to fasten it. For the display, this watch has a 2-inch LCD panel. It stretches 320 x 385 pixels and can reach a peak brightness of up to 500 nits.

Features and Battery

The Redmi Watch 5 Active comes with Bluetooth v5.3 and boots on HyperOS. It is compatible with devices running on Android 6.0 and iOS 12.0 and above. It can track your heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep, steps, calories burned, steps, periods, etc. In the meantime, for dedicated fitness tracking, you get over 140 sports modes, out of which it can auto-detect six of them. You can access recorded data through the Mi Fitness App. Additionally, this watch is compatible with Strava and Apple Health App as well. As I mentioned earlier, the Redmi Watch 5 Active offers Clear+ calling, which is the company’s marketing term for ENC. The watch is equipped with three microphones altogether and utilizes them to pick up the user’s voice and suppress the background noise at the same time. Moreover, you get built-in Alexa, so you can give it commands to control your daily tasks. It has a 470mAh battery, with which it typically offers 18 days of usage. In the case of heavy usage, it can last up to 12 days. Likewise, for charging you get a magnetic charging cable in the box.
