Design

Skullcandy Dime 3 has gone with a similar style to its predecessor. Meaning, it has a hollow case with two cutouts, exposing the stem of the buds alongside the logo printed on it. Furthermore, there is a lanyard in the identical position. The buds weigh 4 grams each, and the case is around 25.8 grams—pretty lightweight, to be honest. In hindsight, the earpieces of Dime 3 feature an in-ear fit with silicone ear tips. There is an IPX4 rating to back it up against sweat and water. You get only two color options, though: True Black and Bone.

Audio

Under the hood, Skullcandy Dime 3 uses 6mm drivers on each earbud. The driver has an impedance of 16 ohms and delivers a frequency response between 20Hz and 20kHz. Plus, it has SBC, AAC, and LC3 codecs built-in. Moreover, there is a Stay-Aware mode, which is basically a transparency mode but renamed. The mode is achieved using a microphone present in each bud, which also acts as a voice receiver for calls. Further, there are multiple preset EQ modes to choose between: music, bass boost, and podcast.

In addition, Dime 3 from Skullcandy ships with connectivity features such as Bluetooth 5.3 and multipoint pairing. You can activate the voice assistant with the press of a button. And most importantly, it supports the Tile App to track the device down when lost. Other than that, the battery here lasts 20 hours combined. To break it down, the buds power for 8 hours straight, while the case adds up to 12 hours of playtime. With rapid charging, the Dime 3 provides 2 hours of playtime within 10 minutes of plugging it in.
