Nitro Series

Nitro Series Overview:

The Nitro series is one of, if not the most, popular budget laptop lineups for gamers. It has been the most affordable gaming laptop in Acer's diverse laptop portfolio since its inception in 2017. Acer announced the first Nitro 5 laptop ahead of the Computex of that year technically replacing the Aspire V Nitro.

Nitro 5 Series

Nitro 5 is the most popular laptop in the Nitro series. It is available with the latest H-series processors from both Intel and AMD. There is not much difference between the two variants, except for the Thunderbolt support on the former. Over on the graphics, you can configure it with the latest GeForce RTX GPUs from NVIDIA. Acer even offers a Spin version of Nitro 5 with a 360-degree hinge and a touch screen.

Nitro 7 Series

Acer also sells Nitro 7 gaming laptop, but it is not as popular as its smaller sibling. Nitro 7 laptops feature aluminium chassis for added durability. Other features are quite similar to Nitro 5, including the CoolBoost technology, the option for 4-zone RGB keyboard, and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.

CES 2023

At the CES 2023, Accer announced a major revamp of the Nitro series  to streamline the available models. Moving forward, there would be just two Nitro laptops — Nitro 16 and Nitro 17.

Nitro 16

It replaces the Nitro 5 laptops and comes in AMD and Intel variants. As the name suggests, it brings a big 16" display with up to 165Hz refresh rate and Advanced Optimus.

Nitro 17

Nitro 17 is a bigger version of the Nitro 16 and thus comes with a few extra features. There are more components to choose from — some of which are not available with the Nitro 16. For instance, the Nitro 17 is configurable with up to desktop-like HX-series processor.
