iQOO launches the “x” variant of the Z9 for the budget-conscious consumers

iQOO launched the Z9 5G with Dimensity 7200 and IMX 882 sensor last month. Now the company is adding two more smartphones to offer an entire series. In this article, we will discuss the series' lower member i.e. iQOO Z9x 5G in greater detail including its expected price in Nepal.

iQOO Z9x 5G Overview

Design and Display

The iQOO Z9x 5G looks quite similar to its standard variant. It has a squircle camera island with two camera cutouts. The cutouts here are also squircle in shape. While this phone might be the most affordable option among the series, it does not skip on the build quality. It comes with an aluminium frame along with customised shock-absorbing materials inside. Meanwhile, it comes with IP64 water and dust resistance and ships in Northern Green, Mystic Black, and Star White colours. On the front, you get a 6.72-inch display donned with tempered glass for additional protection. The panel on the iQOO Z9x 5G is an LCD with FHD resolution. Other than that, it can reach a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and a refresh rate of 120Hz. You also get a DC dimming feature and TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification.

Performance

For performance, the iQOO Z9x 5G relies on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset. It is a 4nm chip that comes with eight cores, and a peak clock speed of 2.2GHz. Furthermore, it packs an Adreno 710 GPU to handle the graphical duties of the phone. In addition to that, the phone packs up to 12GB LPDDR4x RAM coupled with up to 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. Moreover, the iQOO Z9x allows you to virtually extend the memory by an additional 12GB. Similarly, it also offers storage expansion of up to 1TB via a MicroSD card. In the meantime, this smartphone packs a three-dimensional heat dissipation system. On the software side of things, it boots on OriginOS 4 based on Android 14.

Camera and the rest

The camera department is led by a 50MP primary unit with a CMOS sensor. A 2MP depth sensor sits alongside the main camera on the back. Meanwhile, on the front, you get an 8MP shooter that doubles down as a face scanner. The iQOO Z9x 5G offers you 4K EIS video capabilities along with up to 10x digital zooming. In the tank, you get a large 6,000 mAh battery with 44W flash charging support. Other than that, this phone comes with a stereo speaker setup. Moreover, the iQOO Z9x 5G comes with dual SIM dual standby, 5G cellular, dual-band WiFi, and Bluetooth v5.1 for wireless connectivity. On the other hand, it has a USB 2.0 Type-C as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired connections.

iQOO Z9x 5G Price in Nepal and Availability

The iQOO Z9 5G has gone live along with its Turbo variant in select parts of the world including in China. The phone is available in three trims with a price tag starting at CNY 1,199 and going up to CNY 1,499. It is quite unlikely that the latest Vivo sub-brand offering will make its way here. However, if it does arrive here, we expect the iQOO Z9x 5G price in Nepal to start from NPR 26,499.
