Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro Overview:
Design & Display
The Watch GT 2 Pro is available in two variants: Sports and Classic. Both of these have the same 1.39-inch AMOLED display with 454 x 454 pixels. Here, both versions also have the same build material, consisting of a titanium frame, a ceramic back, and a sapphire watch dial. There are altogether two buttons on the side for power and function control.
Where they diverge are the straps. While the Sports option has silicon straps, the Classic variant boasts a more premium leather-made strap. Huawei says there are over 200 watch faces to choose from. The Watch GT 2 Pro is also 5ATM water-resistant (up to 50 meters deep for 10 minutes max).
Health and Fitness Tracking
In terms of health, you get what most other watches deliver, such as TruSeen 4.0+ (their way of 24/7 heart rate tracking), TruSleep 2.0 (sleep monitoring), TruRelax (stress monitoring), SpO2 (blood oxygen level measurement), etc. In addition to that, you can also measure VO2 max (rate of oxygen consumption).
Furthermore, the Watch GT 2 Pro offers a range of fitness-tracking capabilities. You get wide options, with over 100 workout modes available, 17 of which are professional ones. It allows you to monitor activities such as skiing, snowboarding, and even golfing. In particular, its “Golf Mode” analyzes your swing posture to assist in enhancing your stroke.
Additionally, Huawei includes a voice guidance feature in their smartwatches that takes you through your entire workout, and this feature is also present in the Watch GT 2 Pro. And finally, the watch itself can detect six types of workouts automatically based on your movements and such.
Kirin A1 chip
As for performance, Huawei uses the same Kirin A1 chipset used on their other wearables and TWS. To work alongside this, the Watch GT 2 Pro boasts STL4R9 as the processor. Additionally, you are given 32 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage to work with, of which 2 GB are already taken up by Huawei’s LiteOS and pre-installed apps.
The Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro, as suggested by the heading, does have GPS built into it. This makes sure of some of those sports activities and such, but most importantly, it powers the “Route Back” feature.
There might be some moments when you have to take an unknown route and then, when it’s time to get back, you forget where you came from. This “Route Back” fixes this problem by showing your recorded location traces so that you can get back to your home safely.
14 days of battery
On the endurance side of things, the Watch GT 2 Pro ships with a 455 mAh battery, handling all your typical usage for 14 days. Even if you had the GPS on every time, it could still get you through a day, and it would still retain 6 hours’ worth of battery life.
Added to the fact that 5 minutes of charging gives 10 hours’ worth of juice, the watch is almost invincible if you charge it for around 10 minutes daily. I know that’s not how things work, but, just saying. Optionally, there is support for Qi wireless charging. What more?
