Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro Overview
Design and Display
The Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro retains the same 5ATM water resistance and IP69K rating as its regular counterpart, and it is available in two sizes. The larger model remains at 46mm, while the smaller one increases slightly to 42mm. Both sizes come in “Sports” and “Classic” editions, differentiated mainly by their wristband materials.
The “Sports” version features a fluoroelastomer strap, while the “Classic” edition uses more premium materials. The larger version is crafted from Titanium, while the smaller one uses ceramic. The case materials also differ: the 46mm model features a Titanium alloy, while the 42mm variant boasts a Nanocrystalline Ceramic case.
These materials mark a step up from the stainless steel used in the regular models. The larger watch has a more robust design with sharp edges and an octagonal shape, while the smaller version has a more refined and delicate crown design.
Both models of the Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro feature the same display technology as the regular models. The 46mm variant sports a larger 1.43-inch AMOLED screen, while the 42mm model has a 1.32-inch AMOLED display. Both screens support an always-on display feature, with pixel densities of 326 PPI and 352 PPI, respectively. The 42mm model is protected by sapphire glass, though it’s unclear if the 46mm model has the same.
Features and Battery
The Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro builds upon the functionality of its standard counterpart, offering all the same features plus additional enhancements.
It supports Bluetooth v5.2 with calling functionality, NFC for payments, and over 100 workout modes, all complemented by GNSS for accurate tracking. The watch also includes a variety of health and fitness features such as an emotional well-being app, a calorie deficit calculator through the Stay Fit app, and comprehensive tracking of vital signs.
Despite its premium build and expanded features, the Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro maintains similar battery life to the regular models. The 46mm version offers up to 14 days of battery life with light use and around 9 days with typical usage. The 42mm variant lasts up to 7 days on a full charge, with 5 days under normal use. Both versions support wireless charging, and the company claims the watch takes around 60 minutes to fully charge.
