Chipset and Performance

The iPad Pro 13 M5 (2025) is powered by Apple’s new top-of-the-line M5 chip, featuring a 10-core CPU (four performance and six efficiency cores), a 10-core GPU with dedicated Neural Accelerators, and a faster 16-core Neural Engine. Apple claims up to 3.5 times faster AI performance compared to the previous generation, thanks to improved on-device processing, a third-gen ray-tracing engine, and doubled storage read/write speeds.

Apple claims tasks like 3D rendering, video transcoding in Final Cut Pro, AI image generation, and video upscaling are all significantly quicker. Memory bandwidth has also increased to over 150 GB/s, and the 13-inch iPad Pro ships with 12GB of unified RAM starting from the 256GB model.

Apple Intelligence Features

Talking of some AI features, Apple Intelligence on iPadOS 26 gets a significant boost with the M5 processor. You get more innovative text tools, better generative image features, improved on-device Siri, and live translation during calls or FaceTime. Shortcuts and Reminders also become more predictive.

Display and Design

Getting to the display, the 13-inch iPad Pro M5 uses an Ultra Retina XDR OLED display, offering 1,000 nits of full-screen brightness and up to 1,600 nits peak for HDR content. The panel supports ProMotion with an adaptive 10-120Hz refresh rate. For professionals, Apple also offers an optional nano-texture glass variant to reduce glare.

In terms of audio, the 13-inch M5 Pro supports spatial audio with its premium four-speaker setup. Battery endurance remains similar to previous Pro generations, offering around 10 hours of web browsing or video playback. You also get fast charging support with optional 40W and 60W USB-C adapters. As for the optics, you get a rear 12MP sensor, while the front has a 12MP ultra-wide sensor with Center Stage for smooth video calls.

Moving on, the iPad Pro 13 M5 (2025) comes in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB storage options with much faster read/write speeds. The 256GB and 512GB models include 12GB RAM, while higher variants get more.
