Here's a brief description of the design aesthetic, processor, and battery life of the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 2022 16IAU7 laptop with the Intel i7 chip.

Design and Display

Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 2022 is a 2-in-1 device that can act both as a traditional notebook as well as a tablet. It comes in a mostly plastic build with aluminum on the cover. Its 360-degree hinge enables the Flex to fold into a Windows tablet. Unfortunately, you'll have to buy the Digital Pen separately to utilize this feature fully. It's not dauntingly thick or heavy at 18.7mm and 2.1kilos respectively.

The 16" screen is an IPS panel of WUXGA resolution (1920 x 1200 pixels). It can go up to 300 nits in brightness and supports multi-touch. It is also TUV certified for low blue light. Overall the build on the Flex 5 2022 (16IAU7)  is pretty similar to its predecessor and characteristic of the Flex series.

Performance and Memory 

Under the hood of the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 2022 is Intel's 12th gen i7-1255U processor. It has 10 cores (2 performance + 8 efficiency) which can push the chip from its base clock of 1.7 GHz to a maximum boost clock speed of 4.7GHz. The L3 cache on this device is 12MB. Intel's integrated Iris Xe graphics is responsible on the GPU front.

Talking about memory, Flex 5 ships with 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM, which has a speed of 4266 MHz.It is soldered onto the motherboard, so you cannot upgrade beyond its default configuration. For long-term storage, you are equipped with a 1TB M.2 SSD. Again, there is no room for an HDD or further storage expansion.

Battery and Connectivity 

Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 2022 ships with a 52.5 Wh battery and a 65Wh adapter. The battery life is decent at about 11.5 hours of local 1080p video playback @ 150 nits. On the benchmark side of things, it managed 8 hours on MobileMark 2018 @ 200 nits of brightness. The device supports Rapid Charge Boost as well.

For wireless connectivity, you get industry-standard WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1. As for wired connections, you get 2 USB TYPE-A ports, 1 Thunderbolt 4 port, 1 HDMI 1.4b port, a card reader slot, and a 3.5mm headphone/microphone jack.
