Overview

If you’re just looking for a gaming headset, the Logitech G431 is a great headphone to look at. It doesn’t try to be overly fancy, but it gets the job done where it matters. The 50 mm drivers give you a full sound than you’d expect from basic headphones—nothing mind-blowing, but definitely good enough to notice things like footsteps or background details a bit more clearly.

It comes with DTS Headphone:X 2.0 as well. Honestly, how useful that feels can vary. In some games it actually helps with direction, in others it’s not as obvious. Still, it’s there if you want to tweak things through Logitech G HUB. The mic is a standard boom mic—clear enough for chatting with teammates, and the flip-to-mute part is one of those small features you don’t think about much until you start using it all the time.

Comfort-wise, it’s pretty decent. It’s light, doesn’t clamp too hard, and the ear cushions are soft enough for longer sessions. After a few hours you’ll still feel it, but not in an annoying way. The ear cups can rotate too, which is actually handy if you tend to take them off and leave them around your neck.

One thing that’s genuinely useful is how flexible it is with devices. You can plug it into a PC, console, or even your phone using the 3.5 mm jack, and there’s USB support as well if you’re on a computer. So you’re not really locked into one setup.
