      OnePlus 15 Overview

      Design and Display

The OnePlus 15 takes a bold step forward with its 165Hz BOE X3 OLED display, making it one of the few mainstream phones to surpass 120Hz. However, OnePlus has dropped the resolution down to FHD+ (1,272 × 2,772 pixels) from QHD+, which might disappoint display enthusiasts. The 6.78-inch panel supports 10-bit color depth, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, and 1,800 nits of peak brightness, alongside PWM + DC dimming for eye comfort. The phone also has a 330Hz touch sampling rate and dips as low as 1 nit for night viewing.

Design-wise, the OnePlus 15 is sleeker at 8.1mm thick and weighs 211g. It features an aluminum frame and a fiberglass back on the Sand Dune variant, while other colorways use glass. The phone also brings top-tier IP69 and IP69K ratings for dust and water protection. Its redesigned camera module follows a squarish layout similar to the OnePlus 13 series, and OnePlus has added a remappable shortcut button for quick actions like AI access, screenshots, or sound profile switching.

      Performance and Memory

Under the hood, the OnePlus 15 runs on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with an Adreno 840 GPU, featuring 2 performance and 6 efficiency cores clocked up to 4.608GHz. The phone uses an advanced Glacier VC cooling system with aerogel material to maintain temperatures under heavy load — especially useful given the high refresh rate display aimed at gamers. It pairs LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, available in 12GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB, and 16GB/1TB configurations.

Out of the box, the OnePlus 15 runs on OxygenOS 16 (global) or ColorOS 16 (China), based on Android 16, with a refined and faster user interface experience.

      Cameras and Battery

For this generation, OnePlus has parted ways with Hasselblad and introduced OPPO’s Lumo imaging engine (DetailMax) for image processing. The triple 50MP setup includes a Sony LYT-700 primary sensor (1/1.56″), an OV50D ultrawide (1/2.88″), and a Samsung ISOCELL JN5 telephoto offering 3.5x optical zoom. While the zoom range has improved, the smaller sensor size and narrower aperture may affect low-light results.

On the front, the 32MP IMX709 selfie camera captures up to 4K 60fps videos. The rear camera setup supports 8K 30fps and 4K 120fps recording, showcasing OnePlus’s focus on high-end video capabilities.

Powering the OnePlus 15 is a massive 7,300mAh battery, a significant jump from the OnePlus 13’s 6,000mAh cell. Despite the larger capacity, it maintains fast 120W wired and 50W wireless charging speeds, offering both longevity and convenience.
