Redmi 13C

Xiaomi has been well know to offer specs-heavy smartphones in an affordable price bracket. Similar is the case for the sub-brand Redmi. As such, Redmi 13C is the company's budget offering for the year 2024.

Redmi 13C Overview

Design and Display

The Redmi 13C has a similar design to its more capable Redmi Note 13 siblings. This phone has a dual-tone design with a darker shade pretending to be a squircle camera island. Furthermore, it has a flat design and a matte finish and comes with two camera cutouts on the back. This phone is only 8.09mm thick and weighs about 192 grams. On the front, we are getting a 6.74-inch screen with the Redmi 13C. It boasts a resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels, a peak brightness of 600 nits, and a pixel density of 260 ppi. Meanwhile, it has a refresh rate of 90Hz and supports DC dimming. Most interestingly, this phone boasts a Corning Gorilla Glass protection on the screen. However, a point to be noted is that the company has not mentioned the panel type in their promotional material.

Performance

Under the hood, it comes with the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset. It is an octa-core processor with a peak clock speed of up to 2.0 GHz. The Redmi 13C comes in two configurations i.e. 6GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB. The 4GB + 128GB trim will not be available here in Nepal. It also supports up to 8GB of virtual memory expansion while also offering storage expansion of up to 1TB via MicroSD card. Lastly, it comes with MIUI 14 out of the box. Its eligibility to receive the HyperOS update is not yet known.

Camera and the rest

In terms of optics, the Redmi 13C boasts a triple-camera setup on the back. The primary camera is a 50MP lens coupled with a 2MP macro camera and an auxiliary lens of unspecified resolution and purpose. Meanwhile, we are getting an 8MP shooter for selfies and the AI face recognition feature on the front. Powering the phone is a 5,000 mAh battery that accepts 18W PD charging. Furthermore, it is a dual-SIM 4G LTE phone that also comes with dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth v5.3 support. In terms of the wired connection, it comes with USB Type-C and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
