Design
Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 features an in-ear design with silicone tips. These buds are light in weight, measuring just 5 grams. The inclusion of the case adds the weight by 41.2 g, meaning it is quite portable. Then there is only IPX2 splash protection, which is unacceptable at this price range. Besides, the TWS is available in four colors—Olive, White, Lavender, and Graphite.
Sound Quality
Even this time around, the Galaxy Buds 2 has gone with a dual-driver setup with a dedicated 11-mm woofer and a 6.5-mm tweeter. These buds continue with the 3-mic system—two outer and one inner. This helps Buds 2 eliminate background noise when needed, whether for better call quality or to carry out Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). Even for the exact opposite (ambient sounds), the same 3-mic setup comes in handy. Another thing Samsung hangs on to is 360 Audio, which uses Dolby Head Tracking technology and Dolby Atmos. It has also retained the same Samsung Scalable Codec (SSC), along with AAC and SBC.
Battery
With the 61 mAh battery, Samsung claims up to 7.5 hours of playback without ANC. However, with ANC turned on, it drops significantly—by around 2.5 hours. On the other hand, the charging case on Buds 2 has a 472 mAh battery that extends the total battery life to 29 hours without ANC and 20 hours with ANC.
