Design

In terms of design, Samsung’s latest Galaxy Buds 2 Pro is a secure and comfortable in-ear fit. They weigh about 5.5 grams each, with the case weighing 43.4 grams. IPX7 water protection is provided, which means no fear of buds falling into shallow water for some time. Also, the three color options provided are Graphite, White, and Bora Purple.

Sound Quality

The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro follows on with the dual-driver setup with 24bit Hi-Fi sound and codecs such as Samsung’s proprietary Scalable Codec (SSC), AAC, and SBC. So for ANC, the TWS uses the same 3-mic setup. The product is featured as having “Intelligent Active Noise Cancelling”. Apparently, this “intelligent” ANC is said to cancel noise up to 33 dB.

Moreover, the ambient mode in Galaxy Buds 2 Pro lets in the background noise so that the user can have a peek at the conversion without taking off those buds. Users can have it automatically activated under the special conversation mode.

Battery

The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro has the same 61 mAh battery capacity as its non-pro version. But, the usage is much more optimized, hence getting a half an hour boost to the already impressive battery life for a playtime of a whopping 8 hours. Though, with the noise canceling turned on, it does decrease to 5 hours of solid battery life.

Adding to that battery life is the case, providing 515 mAh of juice for backup. This charging case increases your playtime by 21 hours (29 hrs combined) without the ANC enabled, and if enabled, the time appended reduces to 13 hours (18 hrs combined). Additionally, the whole unit charges to full in about 1 hour and 15 minutes with a USB-C cable and about 2 hours using Qi-certified wireless charging.
