The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra raises the bar for foldable engineering, slimming down to an ultra-thin 4.1mm when unfolded and weighing just 215 grams—making it 24 grams lighter and 1.5mm thinner than previous generations. Samsung achieved this remarkably sleek profile while introducing Flex Titanium technology, which places two structural titanium layers beneath the main display to absorb shock and smooth out display creasing. 

This time too, Durability remains top-tier with an upgraded Armor Aluminum frame paired with Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 on the cover screen and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the rear. The redesigned Armor FlexHinge features reduced friction and a narrower profile for a seamless opening experience, all backed by an IP48 rating for water and dust protection. It comes in “Violet Shadow”, “Graphite”, “Cream”, and an online-exclusive “Green Shadow” finish.

Display 

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra features an expansive 8.0-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display that delivers vivid visuals with an adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits—a 15% increase over previous generations for effortless outdoor visibility. The cover screen sits at 6.5 inches with FHD+ resolution, making standard phone navigation smooth and natural when closed. 

To ensure maximum clarity on the inner display, Samsung equips the main screen with a traditional 10MP punch-hole camera offering a wide 100° field of view. However, S Pen support has been removed on this model, which allowed Samsung to drop additional display layers and achieve its thinnest foldable design yet.

Camera System Revolution

Heading up the camera system is a flagship-grade 200MP Wide primary sensor with an f/1.7 aperture, offering 2x optical-quality zoom through Adaptive Pixel technology. It is paired with an upgraded 50MP Ultra Wide camera featuring a wider f/1.9 aperture and a 120° field of view, capturing 34% brighter shots in low-light environments. To complete this optics, it uses a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.

Both the Wide and Ultra Wide rear cameras support 8K video recording at 30fps. The camera pipeline is powered by the ProVisual Engine, which intelligently enhances Nightography video by reducing noise and stabilizing motion. For selfies, both the cover screen and main screen use 10MP sensors backed by an AI Image Signal Processor (ISP) to render more natural skin tones and fine details.

Performance and Software

Under the hood, the device runs on the customized Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor. This custom silicon delivers a 21% jump in NPU performance for faster AI processing, a 16% boost in CPU power, and a 15% faster GPU, complete with real-time ray tracing and Vulkan integration for high-end mobile gaming. Configurations include 12GB of RAM paired with 256GB or 512GB of storage, alongside a top-tier 16GB RAM model with 1TB of storage. 

On the software side, it runs on One UI 9 on top of Android 17, which is optimized to take full advantage of the large foldable layout. Multitasking is seamless with flexible split-view arrangements and customizable home screens, allowing power users to run multiple active apps simultaneously without missing a beat.

Battery and Connectivity

Despite its slimmer build, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra packs a larger 5,000mAh battery that delivers up to 27 hours of continuous video playback—adding 4 full hours of battery life over older generations. It supports fast wired charging, wireless charging, and reverse wireless power sharing to top up Galaxy accessories on the go. 

On the connectivity front, the phone is equipped with 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, Ultra-Wideband (UWB), NFC, and support for dual Nano SIM and eSIM. Official magnetic cases (Carbon and Silicone) are also available, integrating magnetic rings for alignment with wireless chargers and modular accessories.
