Samsung: Brand Overview

Samsung Electronics is one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in the world. It is a South Korean electronic corporation that is a part of the Samsung Group Conglomerate (or simply Samsung).  Founded by Le Byung-Chul in 1938, Samsung started as a trading company. Over time, they diversified into insurance, securities, textiles, food processing, retail, and finally electronics in the late 60s. Besides smartphones, Samsung builds ships, chips, consumer electronics, and even skyscrapers.

Samsung in Nepal

Samsung has gained immense popularity with its F, M, A, S, and Z series of smartphones in Nepal. In Nepal, Samsung phones are distributed by two authorized channels: Integrated Mobility Solutions (IMS) and Him Electronics. To verify the authenticity of a Samsung device, look for a hologram of IMS or Him Electronics on the box. We recommend purchasing from authorized distributors as the Samsung service center exclusively offers replacement and servicing for products bought through them. Since 2020, Samsung Nepal has adopted the Best Selling Price (BSP) policy, which eliminates discounts on the displayed price. As a result, the listed Samsung mobile phones in Nepal are offered at the best available price without any additional discounts. Samsung offers budget-midrange-flagship options with its (F, M, A), A, and S series smartphones. Besides that, they also sell the Z series of fold devices packed with cutting-edge technology.

Samsung Z series

Samsung offers the latest in consumer technology with its Z series of foldable phones. Under the Z series, you can buy either the Z fold: phone form factor that opens up to a larger screen, or the Z flip which folder to a more compact size. Generally speaking Z series don't have the best performance or the best battery life and they are the most expensive phones Samsung sells, but where they are unrivaled is in the technology they pack to make it all happen.

Samsung S series

If you've ever looked for an Android flagship, chances are Samsung S devices have been on your radar for sure. Samsung sells its flagship devices under the "S" moniker. They come with great cameras, excellent battery life, premium build quality, and blazing-fast performance. Excluding the Z series, these are the most expensive Samsung smartphones, and the Ultra variants might just tear a hole down your pockets.

Samsung A Series

Things can get a little confusing here but it's not too complicated. Samsung sells its premium mid-ranger devices under the A-Series banner. But they also sell budget A devices. So an A Series phone might be a mid-ranger or a budget device depending on the number that follows the letter A. Something with 'A5' in its name will be a better and more expensive phone than something with 'A1'.

Samsung M Series

Samsung primarily sells budget-midrange tier devices in its M series. These focus on the need of the general user with an emphasis on battery life, large screens, and cameras. As such, you may not find the best performance in a Samsung M phone. That being said, they are capable enough to deliver a smooth user experience and run light applications stutter-free.

Samsung F series

Probably the least recognized Samsung series is the F smartphone. It doesn't help that this series doesn't boast a high number of devices. On top, a lot of the F devices are just rebranded versions of Samsung M phones relaunched in specific markets with a new name. As such, they are mostly limited to the budget-midrange price range. But once every blue moon, an expensive premium mid-ranger F smartphone can hit the market.
