Truthear Hexa Overview

Design and Build

The Truthear Hexa features a compact, lightweight in-ear design with a semi-transparent black resin shell and a metallic faceplate. Its shell is made using DLP 3D printing, allowing for a more precise internal structure and consistent shape between units. The ergonomic form is designed to follow the contours of the ear, while the over-ear cable routing helps keep the IEMs securely in place during use.

For the build, the Hexa uses a detachable 0.78mm 2-pin cable, making it possible to replace the cable if needed. The included cable is made from four silver-plated strands and uses a 3.5mm termination. TRUTHEAR also provides multiple sizes of silicone and foam ear tips, giving users some flexibility in finding a suitable fit and seal. 

Audio

In terms of audio, the Truthear Hexa uses a hybrid four-driver configuration with a 10mm dynamic driver and three balanced armature drivers in each earpiece. The dynamic driver handles the lower frequencies, while the balanced armature drivers are tuned to reproduce the midrange and high frequencies with greater detail. It has a rated frequency response of 8Hz to 40kHz, an impedance of 20.5Ω, and a sensitivity of 120dB/Vrms. The Hexa is tuned with a relatively balanced sound signature, making it suitable for listeners who prefer clear vocals, controlled bass, and detailed treble. 

Connectivity and Controls

On the connectivity side, the Truthear Hexa uses a detachable 0.78mm 2-pin cable with a standard 3.5mm termination. This makes it compatible with smartphones, laptops, PCs, portable music players, and other devices that have a 3.5mm audio output. As a passive wired IEM, the Hexa does not require Bluetooth pairing, charging, or an internal battery.

For controls, the included cable does not feature an inline remote or microphone, so there are no dedicated playback, call, or volume controls on the IEM itself. These functions need to be handled directly through the connected source device or an external DAC/amp.
