      Vivo has launched a new addition to their V series of phones in the form of Vivo V29 5G. Here is a brief description of this premium midrange offering from the Chinese manufacturer.

      Display and Design

      The Vivo V29 5G flaunts an attractive design with glass on the front and the back. It measures 164.18 x 74.37 x 7.46 mm in dimensions and weighs about 186 grams. It is available in two attractive colours: Noble Black and Starry Purple. In terms of display, the Vivo V29 5G comes with a large 6.78” curved AMOLED panel. It boasts a resolution of 2,800 x 1,260 along with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1,000Hz touch sampling rate, and 2,160Hz PWM dimming.

      Performance

      The Vivo V29 5G has Qualcomm's Snapdragon 778G under the hood. It is an octa-core chipset built on a 5nm fabrication process. This chipset has one Cortex-A78 with a maximum clock speed of 2.4GHz along with three Cortex-A78 clocking at 2.2GHz. And lastly, four Cortex-A55 running at a peak of 1.9GHz. Coupled with the SoC are two configurations of memory and storage. The first of which is a 12/128 GB combination, whereas the other is a 12/256 GB combination. Vivo is also giving virtual RAM extension capabilities with this phone. Furthermore, it comes with the FunTouch OS global version, which is based on Android 13.

      Camera and the rest

      The Vivo V29 5G comes with four cameras altogether. Similarly, we are getting a 50MP lens with a 1/1.57” sensor size and OIS capabilities as the primary camera. In the meantime, an 8MP wide-angle and 2MP monochrome lens come bundled on the rear. The front camera is a 50MP sensor with EIS video recording capabilities. Powering the unit is a 4,600 mAh battery with the ability to fast charge at 80W. It has 5G, dual-band, and Bluetooth v5.2 support for wireless connectivity along with NFC support. Furthermore, it features a six-way navigation system with GPS, Beidou, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and GNSS. It also features an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, e-compass, gyroscope, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
