Is this Acer’s comeback?
Before heading into the newly launched Acer smartphones, let’s first take a brief insight into its comeback. In case you didn’t know, Acer used to make smartphones under the Liquid Series with Android OS back in the early 2010s. It also stepped into the Windows 10 mobile OS with the Acer Liquid Jade Primo in 2015. However, due to subsequent competition in the market, the brand had to quit the scene by 2017-18. Now with the Super ZX series, Acer is finally making a comeback.
Design and Display
As for the design, the Acer ZX Series boasts a slim design with 8.6mm thickness and a curved frame body. The camera module is circular with sensors arranged on the sides while the middle part gets filled with some text. In terms of display, the Vanilla Super ZX settles for a 6.8-inch LCD pane with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. While the Pro enjoys a 6.67 AMOLED panel with the same res and refresh rate.
Performance
Under the hood, the Super ZX model houses a Mediatek Dimensity 6300 SoC. This 6nm fabbed 5G chip features 2x Cortex A76 cores at 2.4GHz and 6x Cortex A55 cores at 2.0GHz. On the other hand, the Super ZX Pro gets a more powerful Dimensity 7400 silicon with 4x Cortex-A78 cores at 2.6GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores clocking at 2.0GHz. Memory-wise, the vanilla model is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage while the Pro one gets up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB storage option.
Camera
Getting to the optics, the vanilla model features a triple camera setup with a 64MP main Sony IMX682 sensor, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensing unit. Likewise, the Pro sibling also boasts a triple setup but the primary sensor is a 50MP Sony IMX882, followed by a 5MP ultrawide unit and a 2MP macro unit. Moreover for taking selfies and video calls, you get a 13MP unit and a 50MP unit on the Super ZX and ZX Pro respectively.
Battery and Others
Lastly, both models get their juice from a 5000mAh battery with 33W wired fast charging support. Connectivity features include 5G, WiFi, USB Type-C Port and Bluetooth.
