In this article, we will go through all the best phones you can buy under NPR 60000 in Nepal. At this price point, you will not just settle for competitive specs but also for premium design and user experience. A decent camera setup is also a must. Likewise, people also tend to prioritize brand value as we go higher. Lucky for us, there are a lot of recognized brands with really good options in this price range which we will be exploring in this price range.

How to find the best phone under NPR 60000 in Nepal?

The phones under the NPR 60000 price range are just shy of the premium mid-range tag, so having good specs on paper is the bare minimum. You should not expect anything but an OLED screen with a higher refresh rate. Likewise, the phone should look and feel premium in hands. In addition, brands should also offer a level of assurance of the phone’s durability. This could come in the form of Corning Glass protection (front and back), official IP rating, as well as internal testing.

A phone in this range must show a certain level of performance. 5G is still years away from a proper implementation here in Nepal, but if you are spending up to NPR 60000, you might as well get a future-proof phone. You should also care about the number of years your phone will be getting software support after launch. In addition, it must also showcase above-average still shoots and stable videography.

Note: In this list, we have also included a few smartphones that cost more than NPR 60000 — but not by a lot. We’ve done this so that you can further curate your choices and also because we don’t want you to miss any good deal by spending NPR 1000 – 2000 more. The prices of such products are marked with an asterisk (*) at the end.

7. Vivo V29

Vivo V29 - Peak Blue Best phones under 60000 in Nepal

Kicking off our list of best phones under NPR 60000 in Nepal is the Vivo V29. And as with all the V-series phones, the V29 focuses more on design and camera than anything else. The phone has a premium glass sandwich design with dual curves and a frosted finish. Its “Majestic Red” variant even has a color-changing back when exposed to sunlight and other UV rays but that’s unfortunately not available in Nepal.

Anyway — at the back — you can notice the big LED ring that Vivo calls “Aura Light.” It is there to help you take portraits in dark settings. And while there was no option to adjust the ring’s brightness level on the Vivo V27 (review), that’s now possible on the Vivo V29.

Great cameras

That aside, the 50MP main camera on this phone is quite capable, even in low light because of the OIS. Unlike other phones in this range, the OIS is not disabled for videos so you can use it to stabilize your footage. The photos from the front-facing 50MP camera show signs of post-processing which may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Under the hood, the Vivo V29 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G chip which is based on a 6nm process. We already know just how reliable 778G is so it was no surprise when we found the V29’s casual performance to be perfectly snappy. It runs on Android 13-based Funtouch OS 13, and Vivo has not promised any software update, although we expect it to expect a couple of them in the future. Finally, the phone packs a 4600mAh battery with 80W charging.

Vivo V29 Specifications:

  • Display: 6.78-inches AMOLED screen, FHD+, 120Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G (6nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 8/12GB RAM, 128/256GB storage (fixed)
  • Software & UI: Funtouch OS 13 on top of Android 13
  • Rear Camera: Dual (50MP main, 8MP ultrawide)
  • Front Camera: 50MP sensor (hole-punch)

6. Realme 11 Pro+

Realme 11 Pro Plus - Sunrise Beige Best phones under 60000 in Nepal

At number 6, we have the Realme 11 Pro+. One of the main selling points of this phone is its design. After all, the company has collaborated with former Gucci print designer Matteo Menotto. The result is this phone clad in a bright leather-like material. The big circular camera bump just adds to this bold design choice. There are even stitches in the middle and around the camera bump for added aesthetics.

Turning over the phone, you are greeted with a 6.7-inches curved OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. This is a 10-bit panel with 100% DCI-P3, 950 nits of brightness, and HDR10+ certification. Add all these to its stereo speaker, making the phone a good multimedia phone. Plus. it has 2160Hz PWM dimming for comfortable viewing.

Decent performance

Under the hood, the phone is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7050 chipset. However, it hardly offers anything more than the Dimensity 1080 on its predecessor. These two are basically the same chipset, so don’t expect anything new on the performance front. As for software, the phone ships with Android 13-based Realme UI and Realme even promises 2 years of OS and 3 years of security updates. Fueling the phone is a 5,000mAh battery, and Realme ships a 100W GaN charger in the box.

On the photography front, Realme 11 Pro Plus flaunts a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP3 sensor which takes decent photos. There is a new 4x lossless zoom feature achieved by cropping in from 200MP photos, and it worked well in our tests. That said, the company needs to refine post-processing for selfies and portraits as the phone struggles with human subjects.

Realme 11 Pro+ Specifications:

  • Display: 6.7-inches AMOLED screen, FHD+, 120Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 7050 5G (6nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 8/12GB RAM, 128/256GB storage (fixed)
  • Software & UI: Realme UI 4 on top of Android 13
  • Rear Camera: Triple (200MP main, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro)
  • Front Camera: 32MP sensor (hole-punch)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (optical in-display)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 5 (Dual-band), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS / AGPS / Galileo / Glonass / QZSS / Beidou / NavIC, USB-C, NFC, 4G LTE, 5G
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Ambient light, E-compass, Gyroscope, Proximity
  • Battery: 5000mAh with 100W charging (100W GaN adapter inside the box)

5. Nothing Phone (1)

Nothing Phone 1 - Black

Securing the fifth spot in this list of best phones under NPR 60000 in Nepal is the most hyped phone of 2022. I’m talking about the Nothing Phone (1), which is the first phone to come out of Carl Pei’s newest venture, Nothing. It has the most unique design of all the smartphones on this list. This is because of the Glyph interface at the back.

Basically, it’s the collection of hundreds of LED lights that light up in the case of new notifications, incoming calls, and others. Helping the Glyph shine is the transparent glass back which is another of Nothing’s selling points. The glass back is held together by aluminum frames while the Phone (1) is also IP53 dust/splash resistant.

Snapdragon 778G+

Under the hood, Nothing Phone (1) packs the Snapdragon 778+, which is a tried and tested chip in the mid-range segment. This is paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The phone runs on Nothing OS which is very close to stock Android. Nothing even promises 3 years of OS and 4 years of security updates which is quite good for a brand as young as Nothing, and the Phone (1) has already tasted Android 14-based Nothing OS 2.5 update as well.

As for the cameras, Nothing has kept things simple by including just two sensors the back. Both the primary and the ultrawide cameras feature 50MP sensors that take excellent photos. Over on the front, there is a 16MP primary sensor which captures great-looking selfies as well. The Phone (1) gets its juice from a 4500mAh battery with support for 33W charging. The phone even has 15W wireless charging.

Nothing Phone (1) Specifications:

  • Display: 6.55-inches AMOLED screen, FHD+, 120Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass 5
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ 5G (6nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 8/12GB RAM, 128/256GB storage (fixed)
  • Software & UI: Nothing OS on top of Android 12 (upgradeable to Android 14)
  • Rear Camera: Dual (50MP main, 50MP ultrawide)
  • Front Camera: 16MP sensor (hole-punch)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (optical in-display)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 6 (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.2, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo / QZSS, USB-C, NFC, 4G LTE, 5G
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Ambient light, E-compass, Front RGB, Gyro, Proximity, Sensor core

4. Honor 90

Honor 90 - Diamond Silver Best phones under 60000 in Nepal

The fourth spot on our list of best phones under NPR 60000 in Nepal is the Honor 90. And this is most suitable for those who value an attractive design above everything else. Although we would’ve liked it more if Honor had managed to provide some sort of IP rating and Gorilla Glass protection, the Honor 90’s design is still pretty impressive.

So is its display. You’re looking at a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and curves on both sides. But the biggest highlight of this display is definitely its incredible 3,840Hz PWM dimming. That means if you’re someone who gets headaches, nausea, and the like when using a phone at low brightness levels, that’s not gonna be a problem here.

Decent cameras, but could’ve been better

Honor 90’s primary 200MP camera and the 50MP selfie shooter are quite impressive too. The photos retain a good amount of details, nice colors and its selfies are honestly some of the best we’ve seen in this price segment. Optical image stabilization could’ve taken it a step further but that’s nowhere to be found here.

As for performance, Honor has gone with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 “Accelerated Edition” chip and complemented it with plenty of RAM and storage. So you’ll have absolutely no problem with day-to-day work here. But while the memory side of things leaves no room for complaint, this is definitely the most powerful processor for the price. Similarly, a single speaker setup on a phone that costs almost NPR 60000 is pretty embarrassing to see as well.

Honor 90 Specifications:

  • Display: 6.7-inches AMOLED screen, FHD+, 120Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 “Accelerated Edition” (4nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 12GB RAM, 256/512GB storage (fixed)
  • Software & UI: MagicOS 7.1 on top of Android 13
  • Rear Camera: Triple (200MP main, 12MP ultrawide, 2MP depth)
  • Front Camera: 50MP sensor (hole-punch)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (optical in-display)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 6 (Dual-band), Bluetooth 5.2, GPS / AGPS / Galileo / Glonass / Beidou, USB-C, NFC, 4G LTE, 5G
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Ambient light, Compass, Gyroscope, Proximity
  • Battery: 4900mAh with 66W charging (66W power adapter inside the box)

3. Samsung Galaxy A54

Samsung Galaxy A54 - Violet

And nabbing the bronze medal on our list of best phones under NPR 60000 in Nepal is last year’s Samsung Galaxy A54. Like all the other Galaxy phones that have launched since 2023, the Galaxy A54 follows the same design language as the flagship models. It also brags premium build material, with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 protecting both the front and back of the phone.

Not only this, the phone comes with IP67 dust and water resistance, which is the best you can get in this price range. Moreover, the phone ships with the latest Android 13 with the reliable One UI skin on top. Whereas there’s also 4 years of platform upgrades and 5 years of security updates to look forward to here.

Reliable cameras

Coming to the camera, the Galaxy A54 flaunts a triple camera setup at the back. You’re looking at a 50MP primary, 12MP ultrawide, and a 5MP macro lens, all of which take pretty reliable photos. Except for the macro camera, maybe. And the Galaxy A54 was our top pick for the best camera phone in this segment for a long time. As you’d expect from a Samsung phone, it’s AMOLED display is equally impressive too.

In terms of performance, the Galaxy A54 is powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1380 chip. It s a 5nm chip with an integrated 5G modem. And while it scores well in benchmarks and all, the Exynos 1380 isn’t the most optimized processor if you care about gaming. We had almost no issue going through our daily chores on this thing but the Galaxy A54 is definitely not the phone you’d want if you also care about gaming.

Samsung Galaxy A54 Specifications:

  • Display: 6.4-inch AMOLED screen, FHD+, 120Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass 5
  • Chipset: Exynos 1380 5G (5nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 6/8GB RAM, 128/256GB storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: One UI 5 on top of Android 13 (upgradeable)
  • Rear Camera: Triple (50MP main, 12MP ultrawide, 5MP macro)
  • Front Camera: 32MP sensor (hole-punch)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (optical in-display)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 6 (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou / QZSS, NFC, USB-C, 4G LTE, 5G
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Geomagnetic, Gyro, Hall, Light, Virtual proximity
  • Battery: 5000mAh with 25W charging (power adapter not provided)

2. Vivo V30

Vivo V30 - Peacock Green

Likewise, the newly launched Vivo V30 is the runner up on our list of best phones under NPR 60000 in Nepal. And compared to the Vivo V29 that you saw at the very beginning, this guy brings a bunch of meaningful upgrades in multiple aspects. Including performance, cameras, and battery life.

So while the Snapdragon 778G powering the V29 was — and still is — an incredibly reliable processor, Vivo has gone with the newer Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip this time. That means the Vivo V30 has a much more capable CPU, GPU, and everything else. And in our tests, we found it performing noticeably better in all sorts of tests. Including multitasking and when playing a bunch of high-end games like PUBG, Mech Arena, and Genshin Impact.

Software sorrows

But we feel that the software side of things is where Vivo still has some work cut out for itself. The new Android 14-based Funtouch OS 14 has some neat new features and all that, although it’s still not as smooth and as versatile as Samsung’s One UI, for instance. And it doesn’t help that Vivo’s promise of 2 years of OS updates and 3 years of security updates is among the lowest compared to other similarly priced phones.

Then again, the Vivo V30 impresses big time with its cameras. It’s got a trio of 50MP sensors and we like how Vivo hasn’t included useless depth and macro lenses here. And we were mostly happy with the photos from this thing. Although its stabilization in videos at 4K resolution isn’t the best we’ve seen. The battery life on the V30 has gotten better too, and under moderate usage, it’s easily going to give you 7 hours of screen time.

Vivo V30 Specifications:

  • Display: 6.78-inch AMOLED screen, FHD+, 120Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 5G (4nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 8/12GB RAM, 128/256GB storage (fixed)
  • Software & UI: Funtouch OS 14 on top of Android 14
  • Rear Camera: Dual (50MP main, 50MP ultrawide)
  • Front Camera: 50MP sensor (hole-punch)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (optical in-display)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 6 (Dual-band), Bluetooth 5.4, GPS / AGPS / Galileo / Glonass / QZSS / BeiDou, USB-C, NFC, 4G LTE, 5G
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Ambient light, E-compass, Gyroscope, Proximity

1. Samsung Galaxy A55

Samsung Galaxy A55 - Awesome Iceblue

Finally — with a slightly upgraded design and a slightly faster processor — the new Samsung Galaxy A55 takes the gold medal on our list of best phones under NPR 60000 in Nepal. But that’s about all the upgrades you’re gonna get with this guy. So looks-wise, it’s pretty identical to the Galaxy A54, right? The A55’s camera rings are slightly larger and look a bit bolder, although Samsung has changed things a bit in terms of the build itself this time.

So while the Galaxy A54 had plastic frames and Gorilla Glass 5 protection for the display, the A55 now brings metal frames and a stronger Gorilla Glass Victus+ layer. That means not only does the Galaxy A55 has a more premium hands-on feel, it also has better drop protection. Then there’s that “Key Island” thing where the volume rockers and the power button now sit on a slightly raised bump here.

Exynos 1480

We found that the new Exynos 1480 also feels notably snappier on the Galaxy A55. And we didn’t notice any jitters or slowdowns when going about our regular work on this thing. At this point, Samsung’s One UI is also ridiculously well-optimized, while the Galaxy A55 is also guaranteed to receive up to Android 18 update so that’s even more reassuring. Its AMD GPU was something we were really excited to check out but as expected, this Samsung chip simply hasn’t been optimized well enough for most games.

Anyway, Galaxy A55’s display and battery life are quite impressive though. And we are equally happy with its camera performance. Samsung has essentially borrowed the same camera hardware here as the one on the Galaxy A54 so it’s no surprise that this guy takes great photos and videos. Its ultrawide camera could’ve been a bit better and a 2x option for portraits is sorely missing, but other than that, the Galaxy A55 is a great camera phone for the price.

Samsung Galaxy A55 Specifications:

  • Display: 6.6-inch AMOLED screen, FHD+, 120Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass Victus+
  • Chipset: Exynos 1480 5G (4nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 8/12GB RAM, 128/256GB storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: One UI 6.1 on top of Android 14
  • Rear Camera: Triple (50MP main, 12MP ultrawide, 5MP macro)
  • Front Camera: 32MP sensor (hole-punch)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (optical in-display)
  • Connectivity: Hybrid dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 6 (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou / QZSS, USB-C, NFC, 4G LTE, 5G
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Geomagnetic, Gyro, Hall, Light, Virtual proximity
