Sony Honda Mobility has announced that the Afeela 1, which we saw at the CES in January, will be the first car to support PlayStation Remote Play. A feature that lets you enjoy the PlayStation experience straight from your vehicle. Let’s see what this in-car entertainment feature is about.
What is PlayStation Remote Play?
As the name suggests, it lets you stream PlayStation games remotely from your PS consoles. You can access the console from PS5 or PS4 inside the car using the Afeela In-Vehicle Infotainment system. It offers an integrated display as well as a “premium” audio system. This also means you can play every PS4 and PS5 game through the PS Remote Play.

We previously saw gaming systems, such as Steam on the Model S and Model X, but PS Remote Play is the first we have seen.
Additional Details
Sony Honda Mobility stated that a minimum 5 Mbps internet connection is required for remote play. If you are looking for a more stable, smoother experience, they recommend a speed of more than 15 Mbps. Moreover, passengers can use Remote Play even when the car is moving, while drivers can park and enjoy the game while they rest.

When can we expect this?
The Afeela 1 is scheduled for deliveries in California in 2026, though the exact date has not yet been announced. We expect this feature to be available only on the Afeela 1 Signature, as the Base model will enter production in 2027. However, SHM said that some Afeela’s features will be subscription-based after the initial three-year ownership period ends.
