Best mobile phones under NPR 15000 in Nepal:

10. Vivo Y02

Vivo Y02 - Orchid Blue best phones under 15000 in nepal

The first entry in our list of best phones under NPR 15000 in Nepal is the Vivo Y02. This is the most affordable phone that Vivo Nepal currently sells. It’s a successor to the Vivo Y01, and like most other entries in our list of best phones under NPR 15000 in Nepal, the Y02 packs barebone specs as well. For starters, it is powered by MediaTek’s Helio P22 chip alongside 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Thankfully, Vivo has shipped this phone with a lighter, Android 12 Go-based Funtouch OS 12 which should deliver fairly fluid everyday performance for light usage.

Including some light games like Ludo, Piano Tiles, and such. Up front, you get a 6.51″ IPS LCD screen with HD resolution. There’s a tiny teardrop notch to enclose the selfie camera up top whereas it also has a prominent chin bezel. But neither of them is a dealbreaker for a budget phone.

A beautiful design

Vivo Y02 consists of two cameras in total—one 8MP shooter at the back and a 5MP selfie camera inside the aforementioned notch. The back of the phone has a boxy form factor with flat frames. Its reflective back design looks gorgeous despite its plastic build. And unlike the Nokia C30 above, the Y02 is also pretty lightweight at just 186 grams.

As for the battery, Vivo has used a large 5000mAh cell here. Pair that with an HD display, and this phone will easily last you through the day. Maybe even more. However, it is limited to just 10W charging—that too via a micro USB connection. So you’re gonna have to wait a long while for this phone to charge from 0 to 100%.

Vivo Y02 Specifications:

  • Display: 6.51-inches IPS LCD screen, HD+, 60Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: MediaTek Helio P22 4G (12nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 2/3GB, 32GB storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: FuntouchOS 12 on top of Android 12 Go Edition
  • Rear Camera: Single (8MP primary)
  • Front Camera: 5MP sensor (teardrop notch)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (side-mounted)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual-band), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / Glonass / Galileo / BDS, micro USB, 4G LTE, VoLTE

9. Benco V90

Benco V90 - Blue best phones under 15000 in nepal

At number 9 on our list of best phones under NPR 15000 in Nepal is the newly launched Benco V90. Like the Nokia C30 above, this budget phone also has a massive 6.8″ display. It still has just HD resolution instead of FHD but if you’re fond of big phones, this could be a decent choice. Its waterdrop notch houses an 8MP selfie camera as well.

Talking about cameras, the Benco V90 carries three of them at the back. But only the 16MP main sensor is worth talking about because the two remaining auxiliary sensors don’t do anything it seems. The company hasn’t even mentioned them individually on the product page! Anyway, right next to the camera module, the Benco V90 has a fingerprint reader too.

A big phone through and through

This phone’s design is also pretty minimalistic. It is available in blue, green, and grey finishes—all of which look quite nice. Just like the display, the Benco V90 also enjoys a big 5000mAh battery. But all this has added to the phone weighing about 207 grams. So if you’re someone with small hands or someone who isn’t comfortable with such heavy phones, this might not be the one for you.

Getting to performance, the Benco V90 has Unisoc’s SC9863A processor inside with 4GB RAM and either 64 or 128GB storage. Oh, and Benco has also shipped a virtual RAM feature here, so you technically can have 7GB RAM here. In terms of software, the Benco V90 runs on stock Android 12.

Benco V90 Specifications:

  • Display: 6.82-inches IPS LCD screen, HD+, 60Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: Unisoc SC9863A 4G (28nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 4GB, 32/64GB storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: Android 12
  • Rear Camera: Triple (16MP primary, two auxiliary sensors)
  • Front Camera: 8MP sensor (teardrop notch)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (rear-mounted)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 b/g/n (Dual-band), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / A-GPS, USB-C
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Light, Proximity
  • Battery: 5000mAh (unspecified charging speed)
  • Price in Nepal: NPR 13,999 (4/64GB)

8. Tecno Spark 8C

Tecno Spark 8C - Magnet Black best phones under 15000 in nepal

Coming in at number 8 on our list of best phones under NPR 15000 in Nepal is the Tecno Spark 8C. The back panel consists of a “Stop At Nothing” branding. And it comes in a bunch of fun color options, so this could be a decent option if you want a unique and good-looking budget phone.

Apart from the design, the rest of the stuff is pretty basic here. As expected. You’re greeted with a pretty large 6.51″ IPS display with HD+ resolution on the Spark 8C. On top of that, you get a 90Hz refresh rate, the only phone in this list to have that. According to Tecno, it can attain up to 480 nits of peak brightness which means the phone should stay readable enough in outdoor conditions.

Octa-core processor

Handling the performance side of things is the Unisoc T606 chip. This entry-level processor has an Octa-core CPU cluster, which is relatively capable of the octa-core chip on most other entries on our list of best budget phones under NPR 15000 in Nepal. Likewise, this has been complemented by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. As for software, the Tecno Spark 8C runs on Android 11-based HiOS 7.6.

Its cameras aren’t the most inspiring ones either. The dual camera array at the back consists of a 13MP main lens and a QVGA sensor—whereas you have an 8MP selfie camera up front. Tecno throws in the word “AI” when highlighting these cameras, but I wouldn’t bet too much on it. In terms of battery, the phone gets its juice from a 5000mAh cell that fuels up via a micro USB connection.

Tecno Spark 8C Specifications:

  • Display: 6.51-inches IPS LCD screen, HD+, 90Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: Unisoc T606 4G (12nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 2/3/4GB RAM, 32/64GB storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: HiOS 7.6 on top of Android 11
  • Rear Camera: Dual (13MP primary, QVGA)
  • Front Camera: 8MP sensor (teardrop notch)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (rear-mounted)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / AGPS, 4G, VoLTE, micro USB
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Light, Proximity
  • Battery: 5000mAh with 10W charging (10W adapter inside the box)
  • Price in Nepal: NPR 14,990 (3/64GB)

7. Redmi A1 and Redmi A1+

Redmi A1 - Blue

The absolute budget smartphone segment (I’m talking of phones in the NPR 12 – 13000 range) had been quite dry in Nepal for quite some time. But Xiaomi finally rejuvenated this market category by launching the Redmi A1 and Redmi A1+ last year. These two phones are the exact same in every way, except for one thing. The Redmi A1+ has a fingerprint sensor at the back, whereas the standard Redmi A1 doesn’t. That’s all.

Despite being a budget phone, Xiaomi has also emphasized the design side of things here. Available in three color options (green, black, and blue), the phone flaunts a leather-like finish at the back. Getting to the display, the Redmi A1 and A1+ feature a 6.52″ LCD screen with HD resolution.

Stock Android UI

The performance aspect of these phones is also quite interesting. Powered by MediaTek’s Helio A22 chip, Xiaomi has used Android 12 Go Edition for a stock UI experience. And based on our experience, this results in fairly smooth everyday usage. The company has even promised 2 years of security updates for these phones. In terms of memory, the Redmi A1 is only available in a 2GB RAM, 32GB storage configuration while Xiaomi also sells the 3/32GB variant of Redmi A1+.

And it also supports virtual RAM expansion by up to 2GB. These budget phones pack an 8MP camera at the back alongside a depth sensor, whereas you get a 5MP selfie shooter up front. Xiaomi has given a big 5000mAh battery here, which unfortunately fills up via a 10W charger through a micro USB port.

Redmi A1 and Redmi A1+ Specifications:

  • Display: 6.52-inches IPS LCD screen, HD+, 60Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: MediaTek Helio A22 4G (12nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 2/3GB RAM, 32GB storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: Android 12 Go Edition
  • Rear Camera: Dual (8MP primary, Depth sensor)
  • Front Camera: 5MP sensor (teardrop notch)
  • Security: Fingerprint (rear-mounted, Redmi A1+ only)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo / BDS, Micro USB
  • Sensors: Accelerometer
  • Battery: 5000mAh with 10W charging (10W adapter inside the box)

6. Realme C30 and Realme C30s

Realme C30 - Lake Blue best phones under 15000 in nepal

At number 6 on our list of best phones under NPR 15000 in Nepal is the Realme C30. Realme’s “C” series is popular for its array of budget phones with unique designs, and this one’s no exception either. It incorporates a suitcase-inspired design like last year’s Realme GT Master Edition—but in a different way. Instead of wide horizontal patterns, the Realme C30 has vertical stripes that mimic a suitcase.

Thanks to this, the phone has a secure grip whenever you’re holding it. You can find it in either Denim Black, Lake Blue, or Bamboo Green color options, all three of which look quite attractive. Besides design, the Realme C30 has a pretty powerful Unisoc T612 processor as well. Its octa-core CPU cluster consists of two Cortex-A75 and six Cortex-A55 cores, both clocked at 1.8 GHz.

Realme UI Go Edition

Complementing the performance is up to 4GB of RAM and 32 or 64GB internal memory configuration. The phone runs on Android 11-based Realme UI Go Edition—instead of the full-fledged Realme UI.

Other than this, Realme C30 has a pretty standard feature set for a budget phone. It has a 6.5″ IPS display with HD resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate, and interestingly enough, a 120Hz touch sampling rate. There’s a single 8MP camera at the back and a 5MP selfie shooter on the front. Realme C30 is fueled by a 5000mAh battery that supports 10W charging via the micro USB port. The newer Realme C30s is also available in Nepal. It runs on Android 12 (instead of Android 11 out-of-the-box) and it has a fingerprint reader too. But it’s powered by a Unisoc SC9863A chip, which is not as powerful as Unisoc T612.

Realme C30 and Realme C30s Specifications:

  • Display: 6.5-inches IPS LCD screen, HD+, 60Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset:
    • Realme C30: Unisoc T612 4G (12nm mobile platform)
    • Realme C30s: Unisoc SC9863A 4G (28nm Mobile Platform)
  • Memory: 2/3/4GB RAM, 32/64GB storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: Realme UI Go Edition on top of Android 11
  • Rear Camera: Single (8MP primary)
  • Front Camera: 5MP sensor (teardrop notch)
  • Security: No fingerprint sensor
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo, Micro USB
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Light, Proximity

5. Realme Narzo 50i Prime

Realme Narzo 50i Prime - Mint Green best phones under 15000 in nepal

Moving on, the fifth spot on our list of best mobile phones under NPR 15000 in Nepal goes to the new Realme Narzo 50i Prime. Narzo is Realme’s sub-brand that focuses on youth-centric products with trendy designs and value-for-money products. And the Narzo 50i Prime is a slightly modified version of the standard Narzo 50, but with a few key differences in terms of the design and processor.

Available in two colorways, its “Mint Green” variant is especially an eye candy. Its wide camera island has a slight bump and a matte finish compared to the rest of the back panel which gives a distinct look. Inside, you’ll find a single 8MP camera. Upfront, there’s a 5MP selfie shooter under the traditional teardrop notch.

Pretty standard display

Narzo 50i Prime has a pretty standard display for a budget phone. You’re looking at a 6.5″ IPS LCD screen with an HD resolution, and up to 400 nits of peak brightness. On the performance side of things, it borrows the Unisoc T612 chipset (compared to Unisoc SC9863A on the Narzo 50i)—which is quite popular among budget phones.

This has been paired with 3/4GB RAM and either 32 or 64GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. The phone has a dedicated SD card slot, so you can expand the storage without sacrificing dual SIM connectivity. In terms of software, the Realme Narzo 50i Prime runs on Android 11-based Realme UI R Edition. There’s a big 5000mAh battery inside that supports reverse charging as well.

Realme Narzo 50i Prime Specifications:

  • Display: 6.5-inches IPS LCD screen, HD+, 60Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: Unisoc T612 4G (12nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 3/4GB RAM, 32/64GB storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: Realme UI R Edition on top of Android 11
  • Rear Camera: Single (8MP primary)
  • Front Camera: 5MP sensor (teardrop notch)
  • Security: No fingerprint sensor
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo, micro USB
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Proximity, Light
  • Battery: 5000mAh with 10W charging (10W adapter inside the box)

4. Micromax In Note 1

Micromax In Note 1 - White

Bagging the bronze medal on our list of best phones under 15,000 in Nepal is the Micromax In Note 1. It cost NPR 18,990 at launch but the company has recently discounted it to NPR 15,999. And at that price, the In Note 1 offers impressive specs. On the front side, you get an IPS LCD panel with Full HD+ resolution. To remind you, this is the only phone on the list to come with a punch-hole panel.

Under the hood, the phone houses a Mediatek Helio G85 chipset which is arguably the best chip on this list. Likewise, there is a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner as well. Moving on, the quad camera setup of 48MP main + 5MP ultrawide + 2MP macro + 2MP depth looks pretty solid for the price tag, it carries.

Pretty capable gaming and camera

As aforementioned, the Note IN 1 comes equipped with a Mediatek Helio G85 SoC. This 12nm silicon provides better performance for gaming and day-to-day usage. The phone runs on stock Android 10, which is outdated now. But the clean stock experience would suffice the need of normal users. Meanwhile, you are sorted with gaming and multitasking under its 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.

Talking of its optics, the 48MP should be good enough to snap some social media-ready shots. The 5MP ultrawide may not be that appealing but it should be okay for capturing wide imageries in daylight. Its presence does make a difference, making it the only phone to boast an ultrawide sensor off this list. And last not least, you also get a 16MP front camera for clear selfies and video calls.

Micromax In Note 1 Specifications:

  • Display: 6.67-inch IPS LCD screen, FHD+, 60Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: Mediatek Helio G85 4G (12nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 4GB RAM, 64/128GB storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: Android 10 (upgradeable to Android 12)
  • Rear Camera: Quad (48MP primary, 5MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, 2MP depth)
  • Front Camera: 16MP sensor (hole-punch cutout)
  • Security: Fingerprint (rear-mounted), Face Unlock
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo / BDS, USB-C
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Proximity, Light

3. Redmi 10A

Redmi 10A - Sky Blue best phones under 15000 in nepal

The bronze medal on our list of best phones under NPR 15000 in Nepal goes to Xiaomi’s Redmi 10A. Xiaomi makes great budget phones—that’s no secret. And the Redmi 10A is quite a well-balanced starter phone with decent everything. Starting with the design, it boasts a bold look with its big camera module and vertical stripes running across the back of the phone.

That camera module hosts two cameras in total—a 13MP primary and a 2MP depth sensor. Further taking up space is just a “Redmi” branding and a fingerprint reader just below it. Redmi 10A has a 6.53″ IPS display with an HD resolution. Pretty standard stuff. There’s a 5MP selfie shooter inside the display’s teardrop notch. And for a budget phone, Redmi 10A’s camera quality is quite nice.

Helio G25

On the performance side of things, Xiaomi has used the Helio G25 chip here. This has been paired with 2/3GB RAM and 32/64GB of storage. Considering it runs on the full-blown MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11, I would highly suggest you skip the 2GB variant because that’s not going to be enough for this phone.

Xiaomi also claims big numbers with Redmi 10A’s 5000mAh battery—like 20 hours of continuous video playback or up to 30 hours of reading. But all it boils down to is how the phone will easily last you a day without having to refuel it in the middle. Unfortunately, it uses a micro USB connection for data transfer and charging.

Redmi 10A Specifications:

  • Display: 6.53-inches IPS LCD screen, HD+, 60Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: MediaTek Helio G25 4G (12nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 2/3/4GB RAM, 32/64/128GB storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: MIUI 12.5 on top of Android 11
  • Rear Camera: Dual (13MP primary, 2MP depth)
  • Front Camera: 5MP sensor (teardrop notch)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (rear-mounted)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Beidou, micro USB
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Ambient Light, Proximity
  • Battery: 5000mAh with 10W charging (10W adapter inside the box)

2. Samsung Galaxy A04 and Galaxy A04e

Samsung Galaxy A04 - Copper

Now, taking the number 2 spot on our list of best phones under NPR 15000 in Nepal is the new Samsung Galaxy A04. It is the successor to last year’s Galaxy A03, and it brings some decent upgrades in terms of design and performance. The dual camera array at the back of the phone now doesn’t have a camera island for a clean look, whereas it is also available in a couple of interesting color choices. Including black, white, green, and copper.

But getting to the front, the Galaxy A04 still comes with the same Infinity-V teardrop notch and some thick bezels; especially on the chin. That notch houses the same 5MP selfie shooter, although Samsung has upgraded the main camera from 48MP to 50MP here. In terms of display, you’re looking at a 6.5″ PLS LCD panel with HD resolution and a standard 60Hz refresh rate.

One UI Core

As far as performance goes, the Galaxy A04 is powered by MediaTek’s Helio P35 chip. This octa-core processor has been paired with either 3 or 4GB RAM. But it also supports virtual RAM expansion by up to 4GB. Storage-wise, you can find it in 32 and 64-GB options. Since this is a budget phone, Samsung has loaded it with One UI Core 4.1 based on Android 12, which is relatively easy on system resources. So your everyday usage like browsing the web, streaming YouTube and TikTok videos, and such should be no trouble for the Galaxy A04.

Powering this phone is a large 5000mAh battery. And considering its overall specs, it should easily last you a couple of days. At least. Thankfully, Samsung has also given USB-C port this time (instead of a micro USB). It supports 15W charging and thankfully, you get a compatible power brick inside the box itself.

On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy A04e is also available in Nepal. It is basically the same phone with a 13MP main camera instead of 50MP. The design and looks are pretty identical to its sibling. And it also rocks the same Helio P35 chip under the hood with the One UI core. Hence, both phones are almost the same.

Samsung Galaxy A04 and Galaxy A04e Specifications:

  • Display: 6.5-inches PLS LCD screen, HD+, 60Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: MediaTek Helio P35 4G (12nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 3/4GB RAM, 32/64/128GB storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: One UI Core 4.1 on top of Android 12 (upgradable to Android 13)
  • Rear Camera:
    • Samsung Galaxy A04: Dual (50MP primary, 2MP depth)
    • Samsung Galaxy A04e: Dual (13MP primary, 2MP depth)
  • Front Camera: 5MP sensor (teardrop notch)
  • Security: No fingerprint sensor
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou, USB-C

1. Redmi 12C

Redmi 12C - Lavender Purple

Finally, our top pick in this list of best phones under NPR 15000 in Nepal is the newly launched Redmi 12C. And the first thing about this phone that really catches your design is definitely its design. Available in a bunch of attractive color options like purple, green, blue, and black, the Redmi 12C definitely doesn’t look like a cheap budget phone. Xiaomi has also applied a fancy stripe which makes the phone stand out against the competition.

Not just looks, but the Redmi 12C also has some neat durability features built into it. This includes IP52 dust and splash resistance, oleophobic coating on the display to minimize smudges, and more. The only design choice we’re not fond of in this budget phone is that it still carries a dated micro USB port instead of USB-C.

Fingerprint sensor

Other than this, the camera island at the back houses two sensors; a 50MP primary and a QVGA sensor. And Redmi 12C supports portrait, night mode, and HDR shots too. Whereas the phone has a standard 5MP selfie shooter inside the teardrop notch up front. And right next to the rear camera module is a fingerprint reader for biometrics. As for the battery, this phone features a big 5000mAh cell that should last you a day or two rather effortlessly.

But since Redmi 12C supports just 10W charging speeds, getting it from 0 to 100% is going to take quite some time. Coming to the display, it has a typical 6.7″ IPS screen with 500 nits of typical brightness. And powering this budget phone is MediaTek’s Helio G85 chip. This has been paired with up to 6GB RAM, while Redmi 12C supports virtual RAM expansion by up to 5GB. And besides the Benco V90 above, this is the most affordable phone with 4GB RAM on our list.

Redmi 12C Specifications:

  • Display: 6.71-inches IPS LCD screen, HD+, 60Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: MediaTek Helio G85 4G (12nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 3/4/6GB RAM, 32/64/128GB storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: MIUI 13 on top of Android 12
  • Rear Camera: Dual (50MP primary, QVGA sensor)
  • Front Camera: 5MP sensor (teardrop notch)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (rear-mounted)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou, micro USB
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Ambient Light, Proximity
  • Battery: 5000mAh with 10W charging (10W adapter inside the box)
