Nearly five years after the debut of the original item tracker, Apple has officially refreshed the AirTag. This new 2nd gen Airtag retains the same iconic coin-shaped design but they have indeed changed the internals completely and now it offers significantly better tracking, a louder speaker, and better integration with the Apple Watch. In this article, we’ll discuss the specifications, new features, and the expected price of the Apple AirTag (2nd Gen) in Nepal.

      Apple AirTag (2nd Generation) Overview

      Precision Finding and 2nd-Gen UWB

The core upgrade in the new AirTag is the second-generation Ultra Wideband (UWB) chip, the same technology found in the iPhone 17 and Apple Watch Series 11. Because of this, the Precision Finding now works up to 50% farther away than the original model. For the first time, users can also use Precision Finding directly on an Apple Watch (Series 9 or later), and it also provides haptic and visual guidance right on the wrist.

      Speaker and Range

As I mentioned, Apple has also revamped the internal design to accommodate a speaker that is 50% louder. Additionally, they have upgraded the Bluetooth chip, which now extends the range at which your iPhone can detect the AirTag. Similarly, the global Find My network continues to provide end-to-end encrypted tracking through hundreds of millions of Apple devices.

      Location and Security

A major software-linked feature is Share Item Location. This feature allows you to securely share an AirTag's location with trusted third parties, like an airline customer service. The good news is that these links are temporary and automatically expire after seven days.

Apple AirTag (2nd Generation) Price in Nepal and Availability

The 2nd-Gen AirTag is priced at $29 for a single pack and $99 for a four-pack globally. In Nepal, we expect authorized resellers like Oliz Store and EvoStore to bring the new trackers shortly.
