Canon EOS R6 Mark II now available in Nepal

Canon has launched the EOS R6 Mark II in Nepal, bringing a powerful upgrade to its original R6. Built for both professional photographers and hybrid shooters, this full-frame mirrorless camera combines high-speed performance, advanced subject tracking, and robust video features — all packed into a compact, weather-sealed body.

Canon EOS R6 Mark II Overview

The camera houses a 24.2MP full-frame CMOS sensor paired with Canon’s DIGIC X processor, delivering excellent image quality across a wide ISO range of 100 to 102400. This setup ensures reliable low-light performance and fast readout speeds suitable for high-burst shooting and video recording.

Its Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system features up to 1,053 autofocus zones and uses deep learning to intelligently detect and track people, animals (including birds and horses), and vehicles. Eye, face, and head tracking is highly responsive, with the option to prioritize the left or right eye.

When it comes to continuous shooting, the EOS R6 Mark II captures up to 12 frames per second with the mechanical shutter and up to 40 frames per second electronically. There’s also a RAW burst mode at 30 fps with pre-shooting enabled, allowing users to capture moments even before fully pressing the shutter.

The camera’s built-in 5-axis In-Body Image Stabilization (IBIS) offers up to 8 stops of shake correction when paired with compatible RF lenses, making handheld shooting more reliable in various conditions.

Video Capabilities

For video creators, the EOS R6 Mark II records uncropped 4K at 60p using 6K oversampling for enhanced detail and clarity. It also supports Full HD at up to 180p for slow-motion footage. Users can shoot for up to 6 hours in Full HD, while Canon Log 3 and HDR PQ profiles allow for better post-production flexibility. A unique Focus Breathing Correction feature ensures cinematic consistency during focus pulls. Dual UHS-II SD card slots allow for simultaneous or relay recording, ideal for long shoots.

The camera features a 3.0-inch vari-angle touchscreen LCD with 1.62 million dots and a 0.5-inch OLED electronic viewfinder with 3.69 million dots and a 120Hz refresh rate. The EVF also includes an OVF simulation mode for those transitioning from DSLRs.

Connectivity options include USB-C, built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and UVC/UAC support for direct webcam use, making the R6 Mark II a solid choice for livestreamers and content creators.
