Design and Display

Starting with the build, Dell is actually moving away from the plastic build we saw in the entry-level model. Instead of plastic, Dell chose to use a premium platinum silver metallic finish for its Pro 16 Plus lineup, with a sleek chassis design. We have all seen that the previous Dell Inspiron 16 Plus series laptop was on the slightly heavier side, but with this generation, Dell has managed to keep the weight around 1.85kg. Yes, this lineup is slightly heavier than the ultralight Pro 14 series, but you can easily carry them for day-to-day use without feeling much load. 

Dell is also providing the MIL-STD certification, which ensures the long-term durability of this laptop. Interestingly, you are getting a 180-degree hinge alongside a big, smooth, user-focused palm rest, which provides comfort during long writing sessions. 

As for the display, this laptop features a 16-inch FHD+ IPS panel with up to 300 nits of brightness. It also offers a 45% color gamut, making it decent for watching content, but it is not suitable for color-accurate tasks such as video editing. Furthermore, this laptop comes with an anti-glare coating, which can significantly improve visibility when you are working near a window in the office or in a bright-light setup.

In terms of performance, the Dell Pro 16 Plus series comes with a mid-range Intel “Arrow Lake” series 2 processor, specifically designed for thin-and-light laptops and aimed at business professionals for everyday office use. The Dell Pro 16 Plus laptop features an Intel Core Ultra 5 235U chip. This chip comes with 12 cores and 14 threads, with a maximum boost clock of 4.9 GHz. They also operate at a base power of 15W, making them much more efficient for day-to-day use. Since this processor is pretty efficient, we can expect better battery performance in this laptop.

Talking about the GPU, the Dell Pro 16 Plus series comes with integrated Intel graphics. This graphic can handle all your day-to-day work pretty efficiently. But when it comes to gaming, it can only handle low-level gaming. Memory-wise, it supports up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of NVMe storage.

This series of laptops has enough port options, including HDMI 2.1, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports. It also comes with a micro SD card slot. Moreover, you get a standard backlit keyboard with a Windows Precision touchpad.
