Huawei launches Hi Nova 12z with 108MP main camera

Huawei has launched a new smartphone, the Hi Nova 12z which comes with decent camera features and battery life. In this article, we’ll go over the specs of the Hi Nova 12z and its expected price in Nepal.

Hi Nova 12z Overview

Design and Display

The Hi Nova 12z looks exactly like the Hi Nova 12 SE with a slim design and monotone non-premium finish. It features a rectangular shape with slightly curved edges. The back has a pill-shaped frame with one lens and an LED light. At the bottom, there is the “Hi Nova” branding. The phone is 7.48mm thick and weighs 185 grams. It also offers basic splash and dust resistance. The phone is available in a Golden Classic Black color.

The front has thin bezels all around and a 6.67-inch OLED screen. The display offers FHD+ resolution (1080 x 2400 pixels) and supports 1.07 billion colors, a 100% P3 color gamut, and 10 touch points. Moreover, it has a pixel density of 395 PPI and a screen-to-body ratio of 91.85%.

Performance and Battery

Although the exact processor isn’t confirmed yet, we expect it to be powered by the Kirin 830 (7nm), which hasn’t been launched yet either. The phone is confirmed to have an octa-core processor but no 5G support, meaning it’s a 4G device that runs on Android OS.
It comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The phone is equipped with a 4500mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging, which fully charges the phone in about 36 minutes.

Camera and Rest

The front camera is a 32MP (f/2.45 aperture) selfie camera. On the back, the phone features a 108MP (f/1.9 aperture) main camera and a 2MP depth sensor (f/2.4 aperture). The camera supports anti-shake mode and 10x digital zoom. Furthermore, it offers multiple photography modes such as night mode, AI-enhanced photography, and slow-motion capture. Both front and rear cameras can record videos in 1080p resolution.

For connectivity, the Hi Nova 12z includes Huawei’s Supercharge technology for faster charging, a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer, and supports dual-SIM functionality with 4G LTE. It also supports dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.1. However, it doesn’t have a 3.5mm headphone jack and relies on Type-C digital audio output instead. The device also lacks stereo speakers.
