Honor launches its 'gaming focused' 90 GT smartphone with SD 8 Gen 2

Honor has launched the 90 GT smartphone in China. Bearing some impressive specs like Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and 100W charging, the phone is set to compete in the upper midrange segment. Without further ado, let’s get into the specs, features, and expected price of the Honor 90 GT in Nepal.

Design and Display

As for the design, the Honor 90 GT bears a flat frame build with curved edges. The blue color variant has two light blue strips going through the camera island. While the Black and White versions remain on the subtle side.   On the front, we are getting a 1.5K resolution 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 2600nits of peak brightness, 100% DCI-P3 support, and 3,840Hz PWM dimming. You also get an indisplay fingerprint scanner.

Camera

Getting to the optics, there is a dual camera setup. It is headlined by a 50 MP camera with OIS and a 12MP ultrawide unit. While for selfies and video calls, you get a 16MP front camera.

Performance

Running the show on the core is the last-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. This 5G silicon is still a powerhouse with a prime Cortex-X3 at 3.2GHz, 2x Cortex-A715 cores at 2.8GHz, 2x Cortex-A710 at 2.8GHz, 3x Cortex-A510 at 2.0GHz. Honor has placed a 3D vapor chamber cooling for heat dissipation. As for the software, the device boots on MagicOS 7.2 built on Android 13. Additionally, it comes in four configurations: 12GB + 256GB, 16GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 24GB + 1TB.

Fueling the phone is a 5,000mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging support. Connectivity options here include 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Other features include an X-linear vibration motor and an RF enhancement chip for enhanced cellular reception.
