Smartphones have become increasingly similar, but HONOR is taking a very different approach with its Robot Phone. After months of leaks, rumors, and teasers, HONOR has officially unveiled the device in China, bringing a motorized gimbal that can physically move and track subjects. The unusual camera setup makes the phone feel less like a conventional smartphone and more like a personal camera operator in your pocket.

HONOR Robot Phone Overview
Design and Display
The HONOR Robot Phone stands out from almost every other smartphone thanks to its motorized gimbal camera that physically moves from the rear of the phone. The gimbal uses a titanium alloy structure with more than 100 precision components, allowing the camera to pan, tilt, and rotate while tracking subjects.

HONOR has managed to fit the motorized gimbal system into a 9.59mm-thick body, which is impressive considering the extra mechanical parts inside. The phone weighs 248 grams, with much of the added weight coming from the moving camera mechanism and its larger hardware. The company claims its 4D gimbal system is 65% smaller than traditional gimbals, such as those used in DJI’s Osmo Pocket series, and calls it the smallest 4D gimbal system in the industry.
On the front, the phone features a 6.31-inch LTPO OLED display with a 2640 × 1216-pixel resolution and a 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate. It reaches up to 6,800 nits peak brightness, which should make the screen highly visible outdoors. The display also supports HDR and 4320Hz PWM dimming for a more comfortable viewing experience. The phone comes in Star Trail Silver and Moon Shadow Gray color options and has an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance.
Performance
Under the hood, the HONOR Robot Phone is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, built on a 3nm process and paired with the Adreno 840 GPU. The chipset offers flagship-level performance for demanding apps, gaming, and AI workloads.
The phone comes with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and offers 512GB or 1TB of storage. With this hardware, the Robot Phone has more than enough power for high-end everyday use and content creation.
Camera
The camera system is where the HONOR Robot Phone becomes genuinely different. The phone features a 200MP main camera with a large 1/1.28-inch sensor and f/1.6 aperture, built into a three-axis mechanical gimbal for better stabilization and movement.
The rear setup also includes a 50MP ultrawide camera with a 122-degree field of view and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor, 2.7x optical zoom, and up to 200x digital zoom. On the front, there is a 50MP selfie camera.
The gimbal can automatically track people, reframe shots, and perform 90- and 180-degree camera movements. It also supports six movement modes, including FPV, Super Steady, and rotational motion.
HONOR has also partnered with ARRI for its cinematic imaging system, bringing features like ARRI LogC3, ARRI Looks, and 10-bit 4:2:2 video recording. These features give creators more control over color and dynamic range during editing, while support for DaVinci Resolve makes it easier to work with professional video workflows. The HONOR H1 image chip also supports 4K 120fps recording, allowing users to capture smoother and more detailed footage.
Battery and Charging
The HONOR Robot Phone packs a large 7,060mAh silicon-carbon battery, which should provide plenty of endurance for users recording videos, livestreaming, or using the phone heavily throughout the day.
It supports 120W wired SuperCharge and 50W wireless charging, along with wireless reverse charging. HONOR has also added split-charging technology to reduce battery strain during demanding use such as gaming while plugged in.
The combination of a large battery and 120W charging is impressive, especially considering the extra power needed to run the motorized camera system.

Software and AI
The HONOR Robot Phone runs on MagicOS 10 based on Android 16 and introduces a more unusual approach to AI through its YOYO Robot Mode. The gimbal works alongside YOYO AI assistant to recognize subjects, respond to gestures, follow people, and even perform over 100 facial movements such as nodding, peeking and it can even dance to music.
The phone also features YOYO Pro Mode, which can handle longer multi-step commands and execute tasks across apps. HONOR says users can also create custom YOYO skills through its Skill Store, expanding what the AI agent can do.

For creators, Camera Agent can respond to voice commands to capture photos, Live Photos, and vlogs, while AI tracking can keep users centered during livestreams and video calls.

HONOR Robot Phone Price and Availability in Nepal
The HONOR Robot Phone starts at CNY 9,999 for the 12GB + 512GB variant, while the 16GB + 1TB version costs CNY 12,999. Open sales in China will begin on August 18, 2026. HONOR has not confirmed an international launch yet, and current reports suggest the Robot Phone is likely to remain a China-exclusive model.
