...but does it have what it takes to rival dedicated gaming phones?

Honor has added a new member to the Win lineup with the launch of the Honor Win Turbo in China. Like its previous siblings—Honor Win and Win RT—this new gaming phone from Honor also has a massive 10,000mAh battery. However, this new phone comes with a less powerful chipset, while the build has become more durable with an upgraded IP rating. In this article, I will discuss the new Honor Win Turbo in detail, including its expected price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.
Key Highlights
- Massive 10,000mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging and 27W reverse charging support.
- MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Racing Edition chipset, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.
- 6.79-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 8000-nit peak HDR brightness, and 3840Hz PWM dimming.
- Durable IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K-rated design with a dual-pump VC cooling system for improved thermal management.
Honor Win Turbo Overview
Durable design
Starting off, the Honor Win Turbo features a rugged, durable design with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for strong protection against dust and water. Its back camera island houses the dual-lens setup alongside the LED Flash that looks very similar to that of the Honor 600 Pro. Although this phone packs a massive battery, it maintains its slim profile of 7.98mm and a weight of 216 grams.

Up front, it has a 6.79-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2640 x 1200 pixels that offers you sharp and vibrant visuals. In terms of brightness, the massive 8000-nit peak should work really well for HDR content and movies. The outdoor visibility of this phone is also pretty good, with 1800 nits in HBM mode. Along with this, the scrolling in this phone should also be pretty smooth, all thanks to its 120Hz refresh rate.
Additionally, Honor Win Turbo supports P3 color coverage, which should lead to richer color reproduction and improved visual depth. The PWM dimming on this phone is 3840Hz, so you can use the phone for long hours. In addition to that, it includes hardware-level low blue light, AI Sleep Aid Display, and AI Defocus Vision Soothing feature so that you don't worry about eye strain.
Performance and Thermal management
Under the hood, Honor Win Turbo uses the mid-range MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Elite chip built on a 4nm process, and Honor specifies that they are using the Racing edition. A similar Dimensity 8500 Ultra chip is also seen in the POCO X8 Pro. So, you can expect decent gaming performance in this phone.

With this new phone, Honor uses a dual-pump VC system that they claim offers around 20% better heat dissipation. These pumps are further paired with new-generation graphite, which is said to offer a 90% improvement in spreading heat evenly across a 4000 mm2 area in the device. Honor also said that it has used laser energy technology that uses hydrophilicity to effectively reduce the core chip temperature by 1 degree Celsius. However, Honor has not revealed the baseline device or test methodology behind these performance claims.
In addition, Honor pairs this thermal setup with its Phantom Engine to deliver a stable frame rate when playing heavy titles like Genshin Impact at high graphics settings, while keeping the device cool so you can hold it comfortably. With this, you can expect fewer thermal throttling issues in Honor Win Turbo.
Memory and Software
Memory-wise, the Honor Win Turbo comes with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 internal storage, so you won't experience issues when switching between heavy browsers and multitasking. For software, it runs on MagicOS 10 on top of Android 16, which has a self-evolving YoYo AI agent that allocates your memory resources where you need them most for smooth responsiveness.

Camera and Battery
Since it is a gaming phone, its optics are average. On the back, the Honor Win Turbo features a 50MP f/1.88 primary sensor with OIS paired with a 5MP wide-angle camera. With this combination, you can expect decent photos in bright daylight and remarkably steady, blur-free shots in low-light conditions. You also get a 16MP f/2.45 shooter on the front for clear selfies and video calls.

Another major highlight of this phone must be its massive 10,000mAh battery, which supports 80W wired fast charging. Honor Win Turbo also supports 27W reverse fast charging, so you can simultaneously charge another device with your phone. According to Honor, it offers 26 hours of video playback, 22 hours of short-form video playback, and up to 14 hours of continuous gaming. They also said it will only take 90 minutes to quickly recharge this battery to 100%.
