Honor silently announces the 5G variant of the Honor X7b

Not after the long release of the Honor X7b, Honor has officially listed a 5G variant on their website. While the smartphone doesn’t differ a lot from the 4G variant, it does come with an upgraded chipset. The Honor X7b 5G showcases a large 6.8-inch IPS LCD with an FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. In addition, the device’s design measures 8.24mm thickness and weighs 199 grams.

Performance

Under the hood, the new X7b 5G is powered by the Dimensity 6020 chip while the 4G variant was powered by a Snapdragon 680 chipset. Besides the upgraded connectivity, you get better raw power with more powerful A76 cores compared to the A73 cores on the 680. Similarly, as for the memory, the Honor X7b 5G is equipped with 8 GB of RAM and offers ample storage with a 256GB capacity.

Surprisingly, the 5G variant loses the 5MP ultrawide we previously saw on the Honor X7b (4G). As such, there’s only a 108MP primary and a 2MP macro camera on the rear. On the front, you get the same 8MP shooter to capture selfies with.
