HP EliteBook Ultra G1Q 2025 Overview

      Design and Display

HP EliteBook Ultra G1Q Design and Display

The EliteBook Ultra G1Q 2025 comes in an Atmospheric Blue color. The chassis is aluminum, and at 1.35 kg and 11.18mm thick, it's slim and light for a 14-inch business laptop. Similarly, it has dimensions of 312.67 x 223.27 x 11.18mm.  It carries MIL-STD-810H certification, meaning it's been tested against drops, vibration, temperature extremes, and humidity. It's also ENERGY STAR and TCO certified.

The laptop has a 14-inch IPS LCD, 2.2K resolution (2240x1400), 60Hz, 400 nits brightness, 100% sRGB, 16:10 aspect ratio. The panel is a touchscreen with a glossy BrightView finish, and HP has included Eye Ease for blue light reduction.

      Performance

The laptop features a Qualcomm chip instead of an Intel or AMD chip. Here you get Snapdragon X Elite X1E-78-100, which is a 4nm ARM-based chip with a 12-core Oryon CPU running at 3.4GHz, paired with the Qualcomm Adreno X1-85 GPU and a Hexagon NPU rated at 45 TOPS. This is what makes it a Copilot+ PC, which is Microsoft's certification for AI-capable Windows machines.

Now, the ARM architecture is an important context. Most Windows software runs fine through emulation, but some legacy applications and specific professional tools can have compatibility issues.

Where the Snapdragon X Elite genuinely stands out is battery life and efficiency. The chip is designed to deliver excellent performance at low power draw, and at a 23W base TDP, it runs cool and quiet. For productivity-related tasks, it can handle everything without issue.

Similarly, it is paired with 16GB LPDDR5x soldered onto the board at 8448 MT/s, single channel. It's not upgradable. Similarly, the laptop also comes with 512GB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD, which is fast, though only one M.2 slot is available and it's already occupied.

      Camera and Security

The 5MP IR camera is noticeably higher resolution than the 1080p webcams most laptops ship with, and also comes with a physical shutter.  On top of facial recognition, there's a fingerprint reader and a TPM 2.0 chip. HP Wolf Security is also preloaded, which is HP's enterprise-grade security suite.

      Ports and Connectivity

The laptop also features one USB 4 port at 40Gbps, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 at 10Gbps, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A at 5Gbps, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. However, you don't get any dedicated HDMI,  SD card reader, or Ethernet port. For connectivity, the laptop is integrated with Wi-Fi 7 with tri-band support and Bluetooth 5.4 cover the wireless side well.

      Battery

The laptop features a 59Wh battery with a 65W charging adapter included. HP doesn't publish an official battery life claim in the spec sheet, but Snapdragon X Elite laptops have consistently delivered strong endurance in real-world use, with most users easily getting around 10 to 14 hours of battery life.  The laptop ships with Windows 11 Home and comes with HP AI Companion and a Microsoft Office trial preloaded.
