Huawei is live with its Enjoy 90 Plus and 90 Pro Max with Kirin 8000 SoC and Si-Ca battery

Huawei has announced the budget-friendly Enjoy 90 series in the Chinese market. There are two siblings here: the Huawei Enjoy 90 Plus and Enjoy 90 Pro Max. Both devices use Kirin 8000 SoC with a 50 MP main sensor. This article will discuss the details, including prices, specifications, and availability, of the Huawei Enjoy 90 Plus and 90 Pro Max in Nepal.

Design and Display

From a design POV, both phones feature a rare combination of a plastic frame and an aluminum back. Something not usually heard of! On the front, both phones feature a punch-hole cutout housing the selfie shooter. We also get a circular camera setup in the top half of the phone in the 90 Pro Max, whereas the 90 Plus has a square camera module with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Meanwhile, Enjoy 90 Plus has an IP64 rating for water and drop resistance up to 1.8m, while Enjoy 90 Pro Max offers a slightly higher IP65 rating. Regarding color options, the former is available in Black, White, and Blue, whereas the latter features a Gold variant additonally.

Talking about the display, Enjoy 90 Plus uses a 6.67-inch IPS LCD HD+ panel, whereas Enjoy 90 Pro Max goes for an 6.84-inches OLED FHD+ panel. Similarly, both phones come with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling, along with aluminosilicate glass protection. Peak brightness on Enjoy 90 Plus reaches up to 850 nits, whereas Enjoy 90 Pro Max goes up to 4000 nits, making it more suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Performance and Software

Under the hood, both phones use the Kirin 8000 SoC built on a 7nm processor. Both phones come with 8GB of RAM. We also get up to 512GB of storage in the 90 Pro Max, whereas the 90 Plus has 256GB.

On the software front, both devices run on Huawei's in-house HarmonyOS 6.0.  Despite the chip not competing with competitors, Huawei's in-house OS is pretty optimized. Further, they also come with NearLink E1.0 and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.

Camera and Battery

Moving on to the optics, both phones come with a 50MP RYYB sensor, but you get PDAF in 90 Plus and dual-pixel PDAF in 90 Pro Max, which gives better autofocus. Up front, you get an 8MP selfie shooter in both phones for selfies and video calls. Both are Huawei phones, so the camera quality should be nice and very decent.

Moving on, 90 Plus is packed with a 6,620 mAh Si-C battery, whereas 90 Pro Max comes with an 8,500mAh Si-C battery. You will get 20% more runtime from the 90 Pro Max than from the 90 Plus. Both phones support 40W wired fast charging for quick top-ups, with 5W reverse wired charging.

Huawei has listed the 90 Pro Max starting at CNY 1,699 for the 128GB storage option and the 90 Plus at CNY 1,499. The official sale of these phones is starting on April 04. If this launches here, we expect 90 Plus to start at NPR 40,000 and 90 Pro Max at NPR 46,000.
