Huawei launched the Nova 15 series in China yesterday. And the device we will be talking about in this article will be the Nova 15 Pro, which sits in the middle ground between the standard Nova 15 and the Ultra. It gets the same Kirin 9010S chipset as the Ultra, a bigger display than the base model, and a 6,500mAh battery with 100W fast charging. Let's get into the details.
Huawei Nova 15 Pro Overview
Display and Design

The Nova 15 Pro has a gorgeous 6.84-inch LTPO OLED with 1320 × 2856 pixels resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel supports HDR Vivid, 2160Hz PWM dimming, and peaks at 4,000 nits, which is very brighter than the base Nova 15's display. The display also uses a variable 1-120Hz refresh rate. And moreover, there's either Aluminosilicate glass or Kunlun Glass protection depending on the variant you pick.
Talking about the design, the phone is quite thin at 6.9mm and has a decent heft of 202g. It's got a glass front, aluminum alloy frame, and aluminum back. Whereas, the rear camera module follows the new horizontal design, which is shared alongside the 15 Ultra. Both of them feature two circular units inside a rectangular island. The phone is also rated IP68/IP69 for dust and water resistance, which is higher than the base model.
Performance
The Nova 15 Pro runs on the Kirin 9010S chipset, which is the same chip in the Ultra. The 9010S is built on a 7nm process and uses a 12-core CPU with one 2.3GHz Taishan core, three 2.18GHz Taishan cores, and four 1.55GHz Cortex-A510 cores. Huawei claims an 18% performance improvement over the Nova 14 Ultra, though it's still behind flagship chips from Qualcomm or MediaTek due to manufacturing limitations.
Camera System

The Nova 15 Pro packs a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP main sensor (f/1.8 aperture, OIS), a 12MP telephoto lens (f/2.4 aperture, OIS, 3x optical zoom), and a 13MP ultrawide (f/2.2 aperture, 120° field of view). There's also a laser autofocus sensor and a color spectrum sensor.
The front camera is a 50MP selfie camera with a 1.5MP multispectral sensor. Video recording maxes out at 4K with gyro-EIS and HDR Vivid.

Battery and Charging
The Nova 15 Pro has a 6,500mAh battery with 100W wired charging. That's a 500mAh jump from the base Nova 15's 6,000mAh cell, and it matches the Ultra's capacity. The Ultra gets 50W wireless charging, but the Pro skips that.
Software and Other Features
The phone runs HarmonyOS 6.0 and comes with satellite connectivity support. There are stereo speakers, an optical in-display fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and an IR blaster. The phone also supports virtual proximity sensing instead of a physical sensor.
