Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max unveiled with a 200MP telephoto camera and a massive 6.9-inch display!

Huawei has launched its flagship 90 series lineup, including the Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max and the Pura 90 Pro in China. The series comes with a major shift in the design, a 200MP telephoto camera, and vibrant gradient color options, similar to the Huawei P30 series. Moving on, I will discuss everything about the Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max in the article, including specs, features, availability, and expected price in Nepal. 

Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max Overview

Design and Display

As said above, there is a shift in the design of the Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max. Unlike the 80 series with a curved design, the new phone has shifted to a flat aluminium frame with a matte frosted glass finish to reduce fingerprints and offer a premium in-hand feel to its users. Likewise, the Pura 90 Pro Max features a rounded triangular camera island on the back and a punch hole front camera, following the same arrangement you can see on most Huawei phones, but with new internal upgrades.

Additionally, it comes in gradient color options: Orange Ocean, Sunset Purple, Emerald Lake, Dawn Gold, and Obsidian Black. The phone has an IP68 and IP69 rating, making it highly resistant to both dust and water. 

Moving on to the display, the Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max features a massive 6.9-inch flat OLED borderless display, delivering a better aesthetic and a large screen area. Moreover, the screen comes with FHD+ resolution, up to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate to offer a smooth scrolling experience, anti-reflective screen coating for reflection-free usage in a bright environment, and scratch-resistant Kunlun glass protection.

Camera and Battery

In terms of the camera, the Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max has a triple camera setup, where you get a 50MP main lens with LOFIC technology. It supports a 10-stop variable f/1.4-4.0 aperture that delivers sharp images even during low light conditions and OIS for less shaky videos. Along with this, it features a 200MP telephoto lens with an f/2.6 aperture and 4x optical zoom, which is a huge leap from a 48MP telephoto lens found on the 80 Pro models, and a 40MP ultrawide with an f/2.2 aperture on the back. 

Talking about the front, it has a 13MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. All cameras support 4k video recording at up to 60 fps, but the front camera supports 1080@240f fps recording for slow-motion, whereas the back camera supports 1080@960 fps.

For the battery, the Pro 90 Max packs a 6000mAh battery paired with a 100W fast wired charging and 80W wireless charging. Additionally, it also offers 18W of reverse charging with a USB cable.

Performance and Software

Under the hood, the Huawei 90 Pro Max is powered by the Kirin 9030S chipset to handle heavy workloads, AI-driven tasks, and multitasking efficiently. Huawei has claimed that the processor offers 25% overall performance improvement compared to its predecessor. The phone configures up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB of storage.

On the software side, 90 Pro Max ships with HarmonyOS 6.1. It also comes with an integrated AI assistant for instant searches or content generation, and one of the hyped features showcased by Huawei is “AI Posture Recommendation”. This feature is helpful for awkward posers, as the AI will help you with the pose rather than just standing still. Here, AI analyzes the scene and recommends a pose to you directly in the camera viewfinder, helping you avoid boring pics even in a scenic location.

Huawei 90 Pro Max Availability and Price in Nepal

For now, Huawei has launched the 90 Pro Max in China, with no details about its global debut yet. Its base model 12/256GB is priced at CNY 6,499, while the 16/1TB variant is priced at CNY 8,599. So, when in the future, if the Huawei 90 Pro Max is ever launched in Nepal, one can expect the starting price to be NPR 142,299 for the base model and NPR 187,799 for the 16/1TB model.
