Moto G Stylus (2026) announced with an active, pressure-sensitive stylus at a budget price!

Motorola has officially announced the Moto G Stylus (2026), expanding its affordable stylus series from 2020. One of the highlights of the phone is its active stylus pen, which replaces the passive stylus that is found on the older model. With the starting price of USD 499, it has still maintained its budget-friendly tag in the market. So, in this article, I will talk about the new Moto G Stylus, including its specifications, availability, and expected price in Nepal.

Moto G Stylus (2026) Overview

Design and Display

Starting with the design, the Moto G Stylus (2026) comes with a vegan leather finish back and a plastic frame. Which I feel is too similar to the Moto G series that are already available in the market. So there isn't a major change in the design area. The visible difference you get is that the Stylus model has an integrated stylus silo on the bottom, because of which it leans a little on the thicker or sometimes heavier side. The new Moto G Stylus measures 8.29mm thick and weighs around 191g. 

In terms of display, the phone features a 6.79-inch AMOLED panel with a fast 120Hz refresh rate to give you a smooth scrolling experience. During normal use, you can manually brighten the screen to 1400 nits (HBM), whereas for outdoor use, the display can reach up to 5000 nits of peak brightness. This means the screen stays bright enough even under harsh sunlight. The display is also scratch-resistant as it comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is available in two color options: Pantone Coal Smoke and Pantone Lavender Mist.

Stylus

Moving on to the most highlighted feature, the Moto G Stylus (2026) has moved from a passive pen to a built-in active stylus, which is something unexpected, given the price. Just like how a phone has an IP rating, the pen also has an IP68/IP69 certification for dust and water resistance. Additionally, Motorola claims that the pen can last up to 4 hours of continuous writing and 100 hours on standby, and you can recharge it within 15 minutes. 

Likewise, the stylus comes with premium features, including pressure and tilt detection, to give you the feel of writing on paper. Depending on the pressure you apply, your writing or sketching feels more natural, with strokes and finer or thicker lines. Similar to what you get on Samsung's S series, but just at an affordable price.

Camera 

For the optics, the Moto G Stylus has a dual camera setup, where you get a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700C sensor main lens and a 13MP ultrawide camera supporting macro vision. It also has a 3-in-1 light sensor on the back that adjusts light and colors.  Up front, the phone has a 32MP camera that automatically adjusts for group selfies. Here, all three cameras support 4K video recording and include OIS for stable, jitter-free videos and good low-light photos. 

Performance and Battery

The Moto G Stylus (2026) is powered by Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, which is manufactured on a 4nm node that can handle multitasking and creative tasks efficiently. Because of the reliable processor, you can also enjoy casual gaming without major issues. The phone is configured with 8GB of RAM and 128/256 UFS 3.1 storage. 

As for the battery, the Moto G Stylus has a massive 5,200mAh battery that supports 68W wired charging. For added convenience, the phone comes with 15W of wireless charging. You can expect the battery to last for up to 44 hours of use. On the software side, the Moto G stylus runs on Android 16, where you get up to two major updates.
